So I recently got a job as a vfx artist cause of blender stuff but the job requires unity so thanks to your channel I've been learning unity shader graph and vfx graph and also working too thanks a lot for this channel. And I also really wanted to learn vfx for games in godot engine but thanks to your videos I'm able to replicate some of the effects in godot and I plan for start teaching what I've learnt to others

Great video thanks. The main thing I've struggled with as a unity developer learning VFX Graph is I often have no idea which nodes to use. Even going through the courses you've made I feel myself wondering how we can learn the nodes to use. Do you think learning HLSL is a good plan for learning the aspects that goes into making vfx using vfx graph? I feel there's definitely something missing

Hi Gabriel great video! It was super valuable information. I'm currently in the learning stage but I'm using UE5s Niagara system instead. I know many techniques and general ideas are transferable it's just the little things here and there. Would you have any similar courses I could look at for Unreal?

I've also found from watching a few of your unity tutorials. That I can actually use those to learn Niagara as well, they're kinda similar. It also forces me to focus on techniques rather than tools.

I have asked on UE channel, is it worth to be a specialist and they told me that in todays age, it is much better to be a generalist.. which caused me to stop trying to learn.. Having a carreer in another industry right now.. being a generalist is much harder than doing only 1 thing :( Also, right now what is the advantage to focus on UE vs UNITY to start? :)

It depends on a lot of things, on the end goal. But I feel like it's easier to pick up Unity because there's much more information about it (tutorials, documentation, projects, etc) and when learning that's all that matters, finding answers.

So is it better to learn in Unity first? I know the theory and ways are similar for both engines, but as an entry level VFX artist, which engine should I start using?

Depends where you wanna end up. Unity is usually for Mobile, 2D or VR Projects so chances are you're gonna orient your career towards studios that specialize in it. For more 3D stuffs, you would go UE4/5. And it's becoming the standard in industry as a whole. Ideally you would learn both. Just not at the same time. Why? So you're comfortable with switching between engines because depending on the companies like EA or Ubisoft, having that under your belt is a non negligeable plus in my book.

Do I have to learn blender early on the first weeks?

It's recommended, but it isn't as hard as let's say modeling character for example.

Teus vídeos é da hora o bom também é que não fica aparecendo a miniatura do teu rosto no vídeo eu particularmente não gosto de videos que a miniatura do rosto da pessoa fica aparecendo no vídeo porque isso atrapalha eu acho interessante o seguinte se a pessoa quer aparece que apareça no início do vídeo faça a sua introdução e depois deixá o vídeo rola sem que fique aparecendo a miniatura do rosto da pessoa no vídeo.
