Thanks for the videos, love the short intro followed by the more detailed section. Having the same issue as you had (?) at 8:30 in the tutorial, ie .aec file is only importing a single exr frame, yet the exr sequence is imported at the 8:33 cut...

If you're having issues importing an EXR sequence to AE: 1.) Make sure the images are named correctly. Like frame_0001, frame_0002, frame_0003, etc. 2.) Make sure you check the box that says import image sequence. Does this help?

Thanks for a nice tut! I used open exr workflow in my latest customer project in cinema 4d. However you can also put more resolution in dpi like 150. But I think 72 dpi is ok for internet use.

DPI is the thing only if you are going to print it latter. Other than that, you are always good with 72, no need to overload your rendertime for video use.

Now, one thing that I can't figure out is if you can do the whole comp in C4D what advantage is there to import it into After Effects? Unless of course you want extra effects in Ae?

That is correct! Importing it to AE allow you to make small changes and add additional effects without the need of going back and forth rendering the 3D image!
