Tether perk on VG
Empowering Rending Throw on hatchet is a must for dmg.
Social Distancing perk is too good to don't use it on armor.
Scream perk on armor (I don't have it yet)
Exhausting infected throw is good to have, but not mandatory.
Ideally u want to use tether + rendering throw + Social Distancing + Infected throw
Tether to get empower and apply the first rend stack
Rendering to apply more rend and more important the 40% dmg
Social D to apply slow/Root (it proc 200str perk for 10% more dmg)
And last infected throw, when all the rend is up and 200str perk proc, shoot ur hatchet nuke.
(if Social D is on CD u could use orb to slow them down and proc 200str perk)

@@GrandLapika Sorry for late reply!!! for some reason YT leave ur comment for revision and I just find it out.... The BB version is more Aids imo, u apply even more stamina regen reduction and we use "Double Down" to keep net slow+stam reduction up for ages. + the infinite disease

Yeah there are so many fun builds out of the meta, at this point all my channel turned into a off-meta/ funny combos content haha But I play so many different builds and I don't have enough time to make videos of all of them quickly enough, so I'm working on my spreadsheet with like a library with all my off-meta tested builds, and more ideas I want to try. I want to incentivize more people to play different builds, u know, new funny things, not alway the same shit. IMO, the game is sooo much fun when we experiment a bit with crazy combos. (And I received a lot of messages from people already bored of playing pvp, that they are having a blast and actually having genuinely fun again playing NW)

Everybody should play with what they have most fun. I found spear/throwing hatchet so doope. I love spear for crowd control, DoT and one ability to even throw it. With hatchet I can use it's normal attacks and throwing abilities in melee, so no need to change weapons or keeping distance. Like a melee/ranged assasin. The only downside is well - good throwing xd

Ikr, sounds simple but a lot of people just play meta because it is the info they found out there. I received many messages from people saying that they started to genuinely have fun again in PvP playing some weird build. Like one guy told me that he played only PvE for like 1+ year and was with my windchill video that he started to play PvP, and now he is an IG main enjoying PvP 🤯 Windchill introduces people to PvP, W haha Spear/hatchet was like my 2nd build pre-expansion. My secret weapon for arenas and duels haha I made idk, 60k or something in duels playing that build, so damn good combination 💪

@@Droidicus keen speed is fucking fun, u are soooo fast all the time, in OPR with cakes u are at cap speed pretty much all the time, (if u are in combat landing throwing ofc) But if u want more dmg, jagg is better. I'm playing with KS and i love it xD

Yup, but imo isn't really worth it for a pure throwing hatchet playstyle. Hatchet scale much much better with str and VG is just an utility weapon, it provides a little bit of dmg with orb but I don't think is worth it gain dmg on VG scarifying a significant amount of hatchet dmg. On the other hand, if u take the Dex path, u gain a free cc break with 300dex perk, and VG will actually hit harder not only with orb, u also could heal a lot more with VG heavy attacks. If u would like to try the dex version u can drop Tether Focus and Mending Evasion and pick Detonating Orb and the one u mentioned, Empowering proximity.

For 3v3 is nuts. But I also use it in open world and influ races and I it works pretty well too. I actually crafted the ring with Mortal Empowerment to use it during races. But isn't the best to just spam AoE dmg in big clumps, it's more of a single target nuke build. And for dmg u really really want to hit rendering throw, it is so much extra base dmg + the rend. (And run the perk on hatchet ofc) And throwing hatchet is fucking hard to hit, so even ifu are a professional shooter player, be patient😂

Thank you! I think BiS is Empower Rend/ Attu / Keenly Jagged (but if u get vicious or Keenly Empower instead of KJ, it's a very solid option too) Some extra info: - Keenly speed, is less dmg but with KS + Social Distancing (another 20% haste), u have a 40% speed almost all the time. That could be funny tbh, I would like to try it. - Enchanted, I don't like because we spam too many abilities. - Rogue apply to throwing hatchet but in general we don't backstab throwing. That said if u get rogue as 3rd perk, could be good to finish off people trying to run away. - Vorpal, I have one with vorpal but hit headshots consistently with throwing hatchet is hard AF. - Keen is a low tier perk for this build, try to avoid it. Spear/Musket #1. I really like windchill and throwing builds too, but my Spear/Musket is unique and the most versatile build I ever played. I can win vs range, vs melee, 1vX, OPR, arena, open world, like that build destroys everyone everywhere haha I just get freedom pants and some heavy gear, so until AGS nerf heavy or buff medium, I'll try to play it in heavy load (pretty sure I'll make another video with the heavy version). Yeah, I think everyone agrees that throwing hatchets is the most difficult projectile to hit in the game, by far. It can be quite frustrating too, but so satisfying when u strat to actually hit the damn hatchets. And like no one will ever expect to take a 6k dmg from throwing hatchets hahaha I could add runeglass on armor and Hatchet, that would increase dmg even further, but as usual I keep it cheap xD Off-meta on top bro, we are not alone, our army is growing ✊ Keep it strong, keep it off-meta 😂

I had a lot of fun playing both tbh. But, - For pure throwing hatchet style this one is the best option. - For more like a "team play" Hatchet/Pesti: is really good because it provides insane disease, the best, or one of the best disease build thx to add the infected cloud on top of pesti, u could reduce the healing of everyone to the limits pretty much all the time. - For solo hatchet/bb, Freya's/BB version could be the best. Freya's/BB version u want the same hatchet tree I showed here (5:05) and as BB, Deepriver Blunderbuss (enchanted/KE/ craft attu) it's a named BB that can farmed in Reekwater and upgraded with the Gypsum kiln. In this build we use hatchet a bit more as utility, that's why we want Freya's, to reduce all throwing CD to the minimum, and use BB to nuke people like BB usually does xD For BB tree, just the classic BB dmg tree. Run Azoth Shrapnel Blast, net shot, and split nade with all the minor perks of those abilities. and the extra points in; Right side tree: Future Planning, Buckshot Left side tree: Future Endeavors, Ramp, Deep Load At some point I'll try to farm Deepriver Blunderbuss and upload that version too. Yeah 150 con feels a bit glassy without featherweight And we already get enough empower with VG + ring + honing stone. But VG empower isn't 100% up time, so u will benefit from Tumbler Feetwraps anyway. Another good option could be Attuned Leather Pants, the extra stats are really nice and u could pick 25 focus perk, and I think u have enough to pick 25 int too.

Yo mate, invigorated punishment is a good perk because we spam a lot of abilities, but I like to run Mortal Empowerment, more dmg and in some way more reliable if u get kills. At least for OPR. In arenas Invigorated punishment could be better because u are not getting max stacks anyway. For Arena I use all buff because are free. For OPR some cheap honing stone, like 3 or 4% empower, the Desert Sunrise t5 and in general now I'm running 48 attributes food because I cooked a shit ton of it. But if I don't need that extra 8 points to get some attribute perk, just a 40 attribute food, could be something like dex/str food, or something cheap. In general I like to craft ton of Desert Sunrise, honing stones and food when town buff is up, and storage all that and forgot about it for a few weeks. (with all the gear, etc u have like 134% chance to get extra items so is much cheaper than buy it)

Yeah I think both are really strong, depends what u like the most. and this vg version is pure throwing gameplay, with pestilence u play 50/50 and with freya's BB u play more bb than throwing. All very effective and in my opinion, really fun, I recommend try all the 3 versions if possible (just with some crap gear, doesn't matter) and then pick the one u prefer :)

What runeglasses do you run on your armor and weapons or you just run gems?

For armor just normal gems, I like to have more flexibility and can swap gems whenever I need. But if u want to add some runeglass +1% range dmg are the best one for this build. For weapon I'm running moonstone with runeglass of 8% DoT (any elemental is fine, i think i have arcane) With moonstone the last ability u shoot gains the dmg increase, let say u shoot, rend throw, social distancing and then infected throw, infected will hit hard af and from there, if u keep ur abilities on CD everything u shoot will get the dmg increase (normal attacks too). Opal or emerald also works fine. I prefer emerald so I don't need to dodge only to proc opal. Emerald u don't need to worry about to proc it or use a perfect rotation of abilities, u will get always all the value of it as soon as u hit people 50% less hp.

Yeah i thought in the split option, but with people running elemental aversion and way more ele resist than Slash, use opal or emerald=more dmg. Some people, in particular range players, run literally 0% slash protection, full opal and elemental aversion on top xD

hmmm I was thinking about that, I think I could, but for this build in particular idk if it's the best, that little extra movement with light + all the slows we have allow us o 1vX, in heavy probably u couldn't keep the distance from sticky weapons for too long. Also the dmg isn't that much tbh, just 20% BASE dmg, but that little extra dmg also make possible 3 shoot people, without that I think u'll need a 4th shoot in some cases. Maybe u could drop orb and use oblivion, and be more like a heavy throwing turret xD U gain more dmg with oblivion and if people come close the 15% weaken and empower will help u to trade some melee hits with ur hatchet vs other melee.

@thacousin bow/vg i find hardest as light melee because they have free get out of stun with dex and they set you up for tether. If they hit tether it over. I have to spend some much tries baiting their skills it's hard to keep stam in that fight

It's just to show how effective it could be even with garbage gear. I could make a 2.0 version of that build, unleashing its full potential, or a Freya's (hatchet artifact) / BB (Deep Rivers) build. Which one would you prefer? Maybe I could include clips of both builds in the same video, but if you had to choose, which one should I focus on more for a new video? I also want to do a Throwing hatchet guide 😁

Hi mate, It works with Freya's but dmg is lower in exchange of CDR. Freya's power is the CDR but it has a lack of dmg for the following reasons. - With VG we apply 30% rend, that's a lot if we add it to the 20% we already apply. - DoT isn't massive but 300 with 3 stacks is some extra dmg - Freya's only have 2/3 dmg perks, with a Crafted one we could run Attu/emp rend throw/ Vicious, Keenly Jagged or Empower, or even plague crits or Keen speed for more utility than Refreshing Move (the other Freya's perk) - The best gem for this build right now is Moonstone because it applies to the last ability you shoot, and from there to everything if u keep shooting all on CD. and Freya's CDR fuck up that perfect rotation to keep moonstone up, and there is another 17% base dmg. So at the end is a noticeable amount of less dmg, and I'm not even sure if it's possible 3 shoot people with Freya's I think we need a few extra throws, and throwing is easy to land, so less hits needed for kill, better xD less changes to fuck it up. I hope it helps :D If u would like to play Freya's u could give it a try too, but instead of play it with VG I would recommend use it with BB, with Deep River (named drop), BiS dmg BB. So u use ur bb to nuke people and Freya's helps u to keep ur cd's up to use hatchet abilities every time u need them.

Ey mate, there is a few options: - Your target, how much slash protection they have and if they are light players or medium/heavy players. In my server there is just a few people running high Slash protection but for example in NA server is more slash protection is common and as far as I know u have way more melee and heavy than my server (AUS). - Your hatchet, Empower Rend Throw is mandatory, then u want Attunement if possible, and 3rd perk Keenly Jagged or Vicious. Keenly Speed or Plague Crits also work as 3rd perk.The hatchet I'm using in the video isn't a bad option but if u can roll 1 hatchet with matrix, lock Emp rend throw and Attunement, and u have high chances to get vicious, but with those 2 perks pretty much any 3rd perk is better than what I use in this video. (except for mortal perks, those are shit xD) - Attributes, make sure to run 300str-150 dex or 300str-100 dex if u want more constitution. - Tree, same hatchet tree I have but my recommendation is change "Critical Throw" (at the top right tree) for "Hurling Force" (at the bottom of right tree, with same icon as rend throw) - Gem, I'm running opal but Moonstone(20% and 17% dmg with runeglass) is better. For runeglass u want 8% DoT dmg (any element, lightening is in general the cheapest one to craft ) Moonstone applies to your last ability. I mean If u shoot Rend throw → Social Distancing→ Infected Throw, Infected will get the dmg increase from moonstone and everything you shoot after it, as far as you keep spamming ur abilities to keep all on cd. Let's say u shoot those 3 abilities and then Rend throw is up again, but the other 2 are still on CD, now Rend Throw will gain the 20% dmg, and so on, u just need keep shooting all on CD after the first rotation. Or Emerald (dmg vs low hp targets), Moonstone is better but with emerald u don't have to worry about nothing, as far as the enemy is 50% lower hp it procs. - Rotation, if u miss rend throw u have 40% less base dmg right there + the 20% rend that is translate to more dmg, so is VERY important hit that one. For that I usually open with some VG ability, to slow them down or root them. Also tether gives u 20% empower, that's a big deal too. 200str perk: 10% damage on stunned, slowed, or rooted enemies. u want to make sure to keep this up slowing down the enemy all the time with orb and social distancing. We apply rend with everything we use, and after 3 hits of VG or throwing hatchet we apply 3 disintegrate (VG artifact effect) that applies 30% rend and DoT, the DoT is bug so isn't very high but the rend + the rend throw goes up to 50% and that's massive and that's why is better vg artifact than a normal vg with hatchet artifact (at least for dmg) When I hit the big numbers is because the enemy is slow down(200str perk up), with 50% rend on them, Empower Rend active, tether up and in some cases I have Mortal Empower stacks (ring perk), for extra empower + crits with vicious. Also the big big numbers are Infected throw hits when everything else is applied/up. I hope it helps. Any question just let me know, I'm always happy and keen to help 😁

Also overall is a hard to play, it's a challenging build, because u need stack things one on top of the other to scale the dmg more and more, and throwing hatchet is by far the most difficult projectile to shoot in the game. Let's say u missed/ they dodge Rend throw and tether, u will need play careful because they will hit 20% harder (approx.) and u have like 35% less total dmg. So is like a high risk high reward build.

Freya's has A LOT of CDD but dmg isn't that big. But yeah It could work with Freya's, u will get smaller numbers but a heavy spam of abilities haha I'll try to make at least a shot video with that version because it is good and fun too, I just personally prefer the VG artifact version, and the extra rend helps vs all the heavy melees out there.

So you're telling me musket is worse at being a range weapon than hatchet... bc you shoot faster and at times harder than a musket does...

mmmh basically ye 🤣 At least at close/mid range But to get the high numbers u need hit emp rend throw first, and many range players right now are running literally 0% slash protection because everyone is playing elemental range dmg, so this build is perfect for abusing the fact that most of the people is follow the meta.

Thi is nice but i did much better build like this, your build blow up enemys, mine is like fucking nuclear bomb droped on enemys ass xD fS artifact hatchet xD the just disapear like remoted shud down their PC Xd. And its works AF. Based on your build

Imo, attu/rending throw/ keen speed or plague crit. Vicious could be the best for dmg tho, but I personally use Keen seed. KS + distancing throw is 40% haste, u are untouchable + distancing and VG slow, melees are fuck xD
