shadic got way to comfortable with the pummels, ik zomba was slow mashing out before, but that last stock last grab theres no reason to pummel 3+ times in that situation. having rob offstage, or above you is such a dominant position for corrin last hit. instead he got greedy for the damage, zomba mashed out, hit him off stage instead and killed him

But that may be because I’m accustomed to listening to Japanese people (esp. females who tend to have *very* high-pitched voices). I also have 8 siblings who are all younger than me, which meant many years of hearing little kids scream every day. 😅 Making incorrect statements during the commentary is also in no way exclusive to these two, I see most commentators make mistakes. In my experience, it’s more common for a commentator to make mistake than not in a set. Sometimes they correct them, sometimes not. Either way, it’s understandable, since it’s a very reactionary kind of speaking they have to do, especially during high-octane sets, and it may not be always easy fix your previous statement when you’re already explaining the next thing in a fast-paced game.

The issue is Shadic relies to much on cheese. Zomba is just so ahead on the neutral game because he is a fundies player.

@@davidc. Cheese is fun, unless it's severely unfair. Fundies are needed to replicate said cheese enough and consistently, since he's essentially applying a flow chart that allows him to effectively dish out said cheese. The problem is not the characters, but that zomba effectively dealt with his play style.

⁠@@davidc.what do you mean by cheese? If you ask me shadic was just playing the corrin rob matchup. Rob pretty obviously wins neutral in this matchup. Corrin just has a good advantage state once she gets in. So yeah it makes sense that he would have to rely on taking his neutral wins as far as they can go.

Shadic getting visibly agitated over the Zomba edge guard the last game is so understandable, even if it was a really well played edgeguard, and like 1 of the 2 only edgeguards Zomba got on him the whole set, ROB edgeguards always feel like bullshit.

Don't mean to be a backseat Andy but if Shadic had tech rolled in once this whole set he might have been able to cinch out the win but he exclusively rolled out every time he teched and Zomba wasn't going to drop that by the end. Surprising Shadic got away with it as much as he did tbh
