JesterKing That’s awesome. Try thinking of Terry as less of a rush-down character and more like Guile from SF, where you want to turtle and think in terms of coverage. Check out RoninX1819’s channel, he has a ton of tech, analysis, coaching, etc. videos for Terry and the shotos. 👍

Jw chokes when it’s last stock with Terry’s go up. I know you have to play more careful but look at all of the last stocks with Go up and compare it to the rest of the match, he stops looking for combo strings and finishers and just wants plays like he wants Riddles to make the first attack so he can punish. Idk his greninja before last stock is clean

Ngl as a terry main his smash attacks are pretty slept on, for lighter characters down smash kills around 110-120 and it come out super fast. It is not something worth relying on but I think It definitely would help to just confuse opponents and hit a saucy read every once in a while with it.

The game plan against Terry is to kill him right before or immediately after he gets Go. Grenninja is a set up based character so once Riddles percent got to high JW only had honest kill options and was a sitting duck for Buster Wolf and Power geyser. Comeback power ups are pretty controversial I'm still not sure if they belong in Smash.

Playing Terry myself, it's kind of Terry's thing. His neutral game isn't that good, but once he has you in neutral, he can rack up damage really fast. Combine that with arguably one of the highest comeback potential in the game, makes Terry incredibly scary to deal with.

Go meter didnt carry per se but it undoubtedly won him those games, I can absolutely see where JWs saltiness was coming from, he was winning each time he got reversed on. Not to say it doesnt take skill, but go meter is so broken that its basically a built in op comeback factor that can turn around games and make small neutral interactions into life or death situations for riddles opponent and for himself because hes at 100% at the least. Which now that I think about it is another good reason why Go meter doesnt really HARD carry but it still turns around games in a way that most characters cant and i get that thats supposed to make him stand out as a character but regardless of that its capabilities still stand.
