The whole thing peaked for me at 02/03. That was the best mixture of emersion and playability. It all worked best when it was still a video game representation of football rather than an attempt to simulate real life football

nice work---But if you played any early John madden football games on any other system besides GENESIS you missed out. The graphics , gameplay and colors were lacking on SNES.

To think that all this started because Madden himself insisted he would never put his name on a football game if it did not have the full 11 players on each side at a time. And apparently for even the very best up to date computers in 1988 just doing that full 11 players on each side at a time practically pushed the computer's limits to where it looked like it was about to burst?

I feel like the last great Madden was 2008. For some reason, as soon as Madden went to next gen consoles (PS2 to PS3), there was something about the game that felt awkward, wiry, clumsy, etc. I felt like the PS2 Madden games, the players just felt fluid and athletic. Now they seem almost cumbersome by putting too much 'physics' into the game. Not a fan of it at all.

I think 07 or 08 was the best year(s) cant really remember which one i liked best tho i know back then you actually had to play the game, catch the ball, control the defensive players, you could do so much back then todays game is pure trash. I really wish kids would stop buying to force them to actually make a good game smh

Since the seventh generation madden has been the same I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing I’m blessed and cursed to see all of gaming from 1980-Now I’ve seen played and have all the maddens
