I've been playing PES since the PS2 days, and I'd say that PES 2020 is one of the best in the series (perhaps even more memorable than PES 2013 for me). It also happens to be somewhat the last in the series (since 2021 is just a season update), so it will always have a special place for me. I spent hundreds of hours with this game during the 2020 quarantine.

ISS Pro '98 on the PS1 was the best 2 player game of football since Sensible Soccer. Once Brazilian Ronaldo got into full flow, there was no catching him!

Agreed PES6 (and PES4 and 5 before) have something magical about them that is absent in the following years. They have more of an arcade feeling also since you can score beautiful goals from far too.

ah that was an amazing watch through the glory years, brought back some great memories. I've been playing PES since the start. The fluidity and gameplay peaked around PES 3 to PES 5, after that you can see it get progressively worse. I stopped buying them due to constant disappointment around 2014 and the last one I bought was 2021. It's crazy to see the game play and static movement get worse over time rather than better. Gameplay should come first not quality of graphics, which is unfortunately what happens.

So happy when I discovered PES on PS2. During this time I had a PC much more powerful than PS2 so I could see the limitations. Hype was high for PS3... what a disaster. Only PES13 saved things... kinda. Then on PS4 PES15 was a beacon of light. First try and decent game wow! Then all came crashing down with PES16. This when PES took arcade to super arcady gameplay. Since then it's all been arcady ping pong passing games. 17 and 19 probably the best of these arcady trend, not good games. eFootball with 1.0 is more of the same, following the steps of the terrible PES20.

@@Sadab360 PES20 I delete fast. There was like no dribbling. Even Messi didn't dribble lol now eFootball not just ping pong but broken. All top players do 1000 feints per game followed by skill rolls with Neymar's xD

All those teenagers en early twentiers will never understand how groundbreaking iss pro evolution and after that, pes 3, 4, 5 and 6 were. Cannot blame them of course, but when I see comments here about PES 2013-2018 was the best, I get flabbergasted. That was literally the time when the 1st pes generation started to boycot pes because the gameplay got worse and the focus became more towards licensed leagues while gameplay was their absolute strenght before.

Best times starting Master League with Huilens and Burchet haha 😂😂😂 what a crappy team but it was so much fun to build your own team and Design your own shirts and stuff ! I loved it ❤ And for me after Pes 13 the game got a really bad turn and never recovered from it . Because 13 was so good in all aspects and they threw it away like some trash ! I read some comments there about better titles that where better like 16 , 17 . Well i tryed them but it wasnt the same anymore for me(sad but true) .

PES 2017 is the last truly great pro evo game on the ps4 era. It was excellent and in my opinion one of, if not the best pes of all time. It is on par with the 2013 and 5/6 versions. The problem is that, after the disasterous 2014 version and the mediocre 2015 version, many people switched to fifa and never came back. 2016 ironically was a good game and better than the previous ones but 2017 was peak gaming, way better than 2016, the must fun and most balanced pes, hands down. 2018 made me feel weird when playing it. It was something that i just didnt like about that game. The graphics, the AI behavior, the grass which looked like a big green plastic hall, i dont know. The one that i bought (again) recently is 2019, because i think that after the datapacks and updates it became a VERY good pes indeed. It just had a rough start on the season. Efootball 2020/21 were the reason i stopped playing pes games and this says alot.

All went wrong after pes 2013 , Konami tried to be more like fifa less like pes, creating their own ultimate team and ruining everything it had in the past. Idk the game felt different lost its touch and everything pes was actually about.

Yes i feel absolutly the same way! After Pes 13 the game got worse and worse till the point i stoped playing it. I tryed the new free one a couple if days ago and i have to say its a waste of time even to download it. Its horribly bad!
