I'm doing a 365 Days of Music challenge, and I chose this for Day 217! Here's the piece I wrote on it below. **Day 217:** "Mushroom Gorge" Mushroom Gorge has been a family favorite for a long time. My family and I didn't play Mario Kart Wii too much, but I do have memories of playing this with my family back in the day. I was thrilled to see this back in Mario Kart 7, and I raced it tons on there too. Now it's back in Mario Kart 8, and I am ecstatic. During a little celebration where there was some Mario Kart involved, my family and I raced it once more, and it just felt so right. I really love the part that kicks in at about 0:16. This is a very faithful remix, but this part just sounds a little more soulful here. Major props to Paulygon for the accuracy here while still making it something fresh and rich-sounding. While part of me wishes Mario Kart 8 had gone a different direction with the music, the fact it's almost a 1:1 recreation of the original tune feels kinda right. Mushroom Gorge's music is so quirky and bouncy that changing the feel of it could prevent it from truly being Mushroom Gorge. The electronic instrumentation is as much as part of Mushroom Gorge as the bouncy mushrooms are. It's one of the highlights of the Mario Kart Wii experience. And it's back! I'm so thrilled!

Mushroom Gorge is making it into MK8 wave 2! However, I doubt the official remix will sound as impressive as this one.

@@WyattD03 Yeah, I ended up discovering it afterward. The official version is essentially a remaster of the original, with a more prominent backing guitar and other enhancements to the mixing. Nevertheless, I honestly like how the new MK8 rendition sounds.

@@BouncyGlowsMusicRoom Part of me was disappointed it was so similar, but at the same time, it's such a unique piece that changing it might not sound like Mushroom Gorge anymore -- what with its bounciness and quirkiness and mountain air flair. I am glad they at least polished it up a little bit, though!

I'll be honest, ever since the original I thought that it couldnt be done in another way that sounded good. However this is IT, this is how it should sound, the original just gets a little old for me for how similar the instruments are, but this fixes that problem

Hey Paul! I would like to make a request if possible... Could you make an arrangement of the Stage Clear theme from Super Princess Peach? It would be awesome for some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate music mod to replace Peach's current victory theme (if you allow it of course). Your work is incredible and super clean, it totally competes with any official music, so I really feel like this rendition could be extra good in Smash, like everything else you've made so far.
