What I like the most when it comes to B737-800, in terms of the sound and it also adds up to my excitement; it is that moment when a plane is taxing and before it reaches the runway and lines up for takeoff, it slows down, there is that kind of rumbling sound the engine is roaring. This is heard well when you are on board, in this video it is heard a bit, but not as much as in real. However it was one of very few videos where I could pick this noise up, so thanks. It is from from 3:01-3:06.

@HHHappyHammer I believe the grease used to lubricate the leading edge slats and flaps attracts dirt, when the plane flies through clouds or rain the dirt weeps out onto the control surfaces and wings.

What I find interesting is how fast you're going towards the runway. Seems to be moving pretty quick for such a busy airport.

And the same goes for me too, but Im worried the soothing sound we all love is slowly disappearing with creation of new generation engines & aircraft. The reality is that one day there might just be silent flight :(

@AirSimming yeah, Fair work Australia have just suspended the dispute for 90 days so planes should be back in the air, good news for stranded passengers. Thankfully i'm flying with someone else today.
@mikeycbd12 жыл бұрын
@hendopow I know what you're saying (as i just googled it LOL) but I don't know that I would be able to tell the difference. The other day i went through a whole bunch of original footage listening for the thrust decreasing after take off and didn't notice much difference in pitch, really depends on my microphone picking it up accurately which doesn't always happen.
@GladiusDidimus13 жыл бұрын
@TheWarPlanet The noise is a combination of faint vibrations, and pressurizing the cabin
@mikeycbd13 жыл бұрын
@TheChefKev I checked further into this and went back to my stored video and there is no real spool down, If I uploaded the additional footage you wouldn't hear anything different except when my camera is not facing the window it sounds quieter. It was good to check back stuff to 2009!

@williamwilbur What i'm saying is that the news will always show footage of planes landing and taking off, the videos are taken by us, the general public. If it really was a "no no" then the news programmes wouldn't show the video as it's not allowed by the airline. They reinforce and support people filming.
@TheWarPlanet13 жыл бұрын
@ut00bington 1) the dirt is just the plane needs to get repainted. I heard they repaint the planes every 5 years and this one will get repainted soon. 2) Buzzing noise is normal too, i forgot why it makes the noise (i always forget)

@SOPROBROOO in respect to what ? the 737 800 is considered a short to medium range. so i think is not considered a huge plane you know like a 747 767 etc.

what is that vibration sound at 3:19 as soon as it accelerates? i always hear that on flights... and it keeps louder and louder like in 4:00
@mikeycbd8 жыл бұрын
It is just the noise the engine makes, at 3.19 that is where the thrust has increased for take off and at 4:00 that is maximum thrust and LOAD on the engine changing the sound you hear.
