Hey you made it down south! Good to see you got the obligatory picture in front of the Dargo Hotel. You showed an amazing view from the top of Billy goats and it is still on our to do list. Looks like you had an amazing trip!

Nice video Scott. Good to see someone acknowledging that Billy Goats is tough. I've watched a large number of vidoes of that climb, and most don't mention how tough it is. It was impressive to see the way the standard D-Max handled it. My own Fortuner arrived a couple of months ago (after an 18 month wait!) and I'm starting to do some tougher tracks. I live about an hour away from Billy Goats and am intending to do it when the skill levels are what's needed. I have a Tough Dog 40mm lift, KO2s, and winch. Do you have a front locker on yours? My original intention was to get an ARB air locker but am not sure now. I find the traction control to be very good on steep rocky stuff, and to date have only used the rear locker for sand, mud and sometimes for steep descents.

Thanks for watching, much appreciated. None of us on that climb were what I would call experienced off roaders. Rob in the Patrol, it was his first day on a 4wd track, ever. But we didnt do anything stupid, it wasnt a race to the top, we just took our time. Low range, just crawl up. I didnt have to activate the locker which was good, my 2" lift and 31.5" tyres were more then enough to avoid any clearance issues just had to take the right lines. Although the locker would of made some of those wombat holes on the approaches to the roll overs a lot easier to navigate if I had come stuck on any of them. The Dmax is stock as, infact probably a little bit lower on the front now given he has a bullbar and winch fitted. He did get stuck a number of times but it was a case of reversing back, trying different angles and approaches and he got through every one on his own steam which impresses me a lot. And welcome to the world of Fortuner ownership!!
