VHS Beyond Review (Spoilers)

I still think VHS 2 is the best movie of the series. Beyond wasn’t the best but it was far from being the worst, in my top three for sure.

I really liked all the segments except fur babies. Dream girl was kinda weak but i liked the rampage at the end. Stowaway was the best and is def top 3 of all vhs segments imo.

Watched it the other day. Pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Most of the VHS movies are pretty crappy. This one stands out.

The first sequence with the cops killing the space alien bird monster was awesome. I didn't like the dog kennel one because the rescuing friends were weak as hell. I wanted to see them kill the dog monsters and kill that crazy lady. The blonde girl in the spaceship was as gnarly as it was ominous, awesome, but I couldn't really see what was happening. The movie was good, but did very little to conclude, I almost care to see how it ended once the horror sequences ended. Anyway, good review man!

Why can't we get a lake monster segment in these movies?

I know right?!? I thought we were getting one in the last movie with the segment when the group of friends go boating in the lake. It went in a completely different direction but for awhile I thought that's what we were getting.

@@reelwatkins It doesn't even have to be generic like a plesiosaur or mosasaur; could be like a gillman or group of them. I don't hate subverting expectations, but it DOESN'T always work.

This was the weaker of the movies. If you liked that skydiving sequence you might like the film “Hardcore Henry”

Only good of the VHS series is the first one. It got some originality, good scares and some nice twists at the end. When it later started focusing too much on cool effects and bigger stuff it became boring.

Felt weaker than 85 in my opinion but I gotta watch them all again to get a true ranking In terms of horror factor I feel 94 had the most horrific segments as my wife couldn’t even finish that one but was unphased by beyond I miss the classic wrap around structure from the first 2 films where seemingly average people come across a bunch of metaphysical VHS tapes. My favorite segment was the one where the lady stowed away on the alien ship. Though the fur babies was a close second as that segment felt like a classic VHS segment Over all it was a fun ride and I hope they keep making more!!!

It was dog shit. The first two in the V/H/S series are the only good ones....I keep hoping they'll make another good one, but they've just become so cheap and corny
