Hi NinchMovies. I haven't seen The Dam Busters, but I know it's based on a book by Paul Brickhill, who wrote the book of another true WWII tale made into one of my favorite films, "The Great Escape"(1963) w/Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson & Donald Pleasance. "The Dam Busters" director, Michael Anderson, directed one of my favorite Sci-Fi movies later, "Logan's Run" in 1976. Another fact based WWII movie favorite of mine is "A Bridge Too Far"(1977) with a all star Who's who cast...but it's a long one also, at nearly three hours. Definitely putting The Dam Busters on my list for the cast alone- Richard Todd and Michael Redgrave. Redgrave is the father of Vanessa and Lynn Redgrave, Lynn you've seen as James Whale's housekeeper Hannah in "Gods and Monsters"(Oscar nominated BTW). GWTW is also a favorite..just saw it on the big screen (again) in a 85th Anniversary re-release to cinemas here in the U.S. Great additions to your collection!👍

I would have never known about Paul brick halls books, the great escape is a fantastic film tho! That iconic soundtrack too. I’ve heard of Logan’s run but haven’t seen it, older sci-fi is my favourite type of sci-fi though. Definitely on my list now. That’s awesome that you got to see the anniversary screening of gwtw, it’s a great film definitely worth celebrating 🥳
