Action from the fourth round of the 1983 World Rally Championship. Originally produced by Brunswick Films; I suspect this was on behalf of Marlboro but the movie isn't branded as such. No end credits, so I've been unable to identify the commentator. Converted from VHS recording. I still remember that 1983 safari rally very well as they used to pass near our home in Kirinyaga District then,it was really fun

I love how they talk about the privateers at the end, about how they don’t get much glory and whatever. I’m over here like well then show them dang-it! That little truck looked cool, I thought they were going to showcase some of the privateers then it just ended. Still an awesome video, but the privateer portion got me all excited. ha

I was looking forward to this as well but when it does return it will be a shadow of this once great event. A bit like all WRC events now. More a sprint.
