I noticed that. It's obvious these two women have a history, and you can tell by their interactions and even the way they fight one another that they still know each other well, even after all those years. I also love the petty glass toss, and the look of annoyance on Sevika's face as she dodges it. They may hate one another, but there's also a nuanced understanding of the other there. Both are fierce fighters loyal to the causes they think are best, and are well matched as opponents in their similarities. The writers did a damn good job.

I like how Vander's "Ghost" contrasts Mylo's Jinx "Hears" Mylo as her insecurities, telling her she's weak and basically mocking her every action. Making her insecure and fueling her anger/paranoia. Vi hears Vander as a motivation to keep fighting. Not telling her she's weak, but rather "Okay, now what you do is get up and keep fighting" and remembers her of what she's fighting for. Mylo appears in the shadows, obscured and as a twisted version of himself, with a ghoulish appearance. Vander appears in a bright light as a complete version of himself

@@devinfleenor3188 not really hallucinations Jinx directly hears and interacts with the voices in her head. Mylo talks, she tells him to shut up like it produces actual sound in her head. Vi might just be talking to herself and Vander comes to mind when she says it, that's something i do a lot as well, but i wouldn't call a hallucination. She doesn't even directly looks at him or really answers him, so my guess is that it's just herself but imagining Vander saying it.

I love that Sevika now inserts shimmer into arm manually, as opposed to in Act 2, when the arm injected shimmer into her seemingly at random intervals. She can now control when she gets that berserk boost, and prevents someone like Caitlyn from shooting the shimmer vials off and rendering the arm useless. Amazing details.

Silco and Vander truly have different parenting style. Silco gives Jinx unconditional loves and trust, while Vander gives honesty and strict reminder of responsibility. This is especially interesting because Silco was portrayed as a leader first, father second, while Vander is the other way around.

@@FFXfever I can agree that it mirrors Powder with Vi, but the thing is if Jinx screws up while Silco DOES express his love and tries to empower her, She STILL thinks that she's a screw up, she NEVER got over her own trauma that Silco SHOULD'VE attended to if he really cared about her, AND Jinx' Hallucinations are worse, having both auditory and visual hallucinations while she doesn't lash out as much as when she was Powder, it doesn't take away how it's gotten worse under his care. Whether or not we like it, Jinx HAS to face her trauma instead of burying it and "forgetting" about it like what Silco tries to do. I doubt Vi could help Jinx because she lacks the understanding to help Jinx, but I do have some belief that She could've helped Jinx get over it (and maybe with the help of Ekko as he DID experience similar/the same traumatic experience of losing their family and loved ones)

@@albertrex6851 Nah, no way. Fights in real life are absolutely exhausting, even trained professionals can only go so long, this isn't anime. Besides, even if they could go that long, their first fight was shown in it's entirety and lasted only a few minutes at most, and again, they were exhausted by the end of it. This particular fight, considering Vi's new gauntlets, Sevika's shimmer, and the cuts from outside the bar, I imagine this fight lasted no more than 10 minutes, likely a bit less.

Sevika is such an awesome character. She's badass, she can fight, and even though she's one of the "bad guys", she isn't exactly evil. She only joins Silco because she thought Vander wasn't doing what was best for the undercity and its people. She even had the opportunity to kill Silco and the other mob bosses to seize more power for herself, but instead chose to stay loyal to him. She's a really fascinating and complex character, but in a show with a long list of such characters, she often gets overlooked.

If I remember right, the gemstones react to specific runes and functions so it's more that she stumbled upon the right action to trigger the barrier. The gauntlets were intended for mining operations, so it was probably designed to protect miners from cave-ins.

Then again the only thing we actually know about the gauntlets is that they were made for mining, they are powered by the hextech gemstone and there were runes briefly visible when the shield generated. By act 3, I stopped seeing particular characters as good or bad. Silco was legitimately just Vander at the end, and Sevika was a loyal retainer to him. If there was a villain in the show, it was Jynx. She was killing innocent people left and right and most of the things she did caused trouble and Mayhem in the narrative (which I absolutely love btw). Silco was just in a position where he had to constantly show his authority but when you are from the Undercity, the only way to do that is with Violence. Jayce also went corrupt just to keep this authority in Piltover. Saying Silco was evil is basically calling all of the Undercity evil, IMO. Particularly if you 'forgive' some of the antics Jayce and them were pulling in Piltover. Although, of course Ekko did a fine job cutting out a virtuous part of the Undercity while staying relatively good in nature. I'm just saying that Silco didn't do evil things because he was evil, but because they were the only things that would help the undercity, and he probably truly believed that, particularly after act 1 seeing how Vander handled things and got pushed around by Enforcers.

Also they get so many fricken hits to the face and those aren't love taps. Such a great way to show how tough they are but also their strength. I love this show.

the small details win this fight. each cut showed a different angle and it really shows this fight in all is beauty. every little detail from the spit and blood to the god damn items in the room becoming weapons. my favorite part is when she lying on the ground talking to vander. she smiles and smirks at vanders remarks like hes never been gone all these years. even the small detail of her spitting out her tooth and shooting blood out her nose shows just good fighting spirit. this isnt the power of friendship or magic but flat out just raw spirit. if anyone else had those gloves they wouldnt survive so long but its vi that makes the gloves shine so they react accordantly

What I really appreciate about this rematch is the fight is still close. Vi's gauntlets don't necessarily give her the "edge" over Sevika, but rather "level the playing field". Occasionally when the protagonist gets an upgrade, they body the antagonist they struggled with previously.

small i thing i noticed tween both Vi vs Sevika fight scenes bc im insane and have rewatched them over and over: fortiche kept their strengths the same throughout their two scenes i think, where Vi's faster than Sev but Sev's stronger/harder hitting. Like how Vi seems to get more hits in but they effect Sevika less than her hits against Vi, and that if you pay attention, Sevika tries to get hits on Vi but often gets beaten to the literal punch eg straight after Sevika gets her arm ripped off she (amazingly) immediately tries for an overhead punch but gets beaten to it, also happens in the first fight before she gets dropkicked through the ally i believe. But in shots where its a direct power struggle Sevika usually comes out on top eg the headbutt/grapple here plus direct punch outs or wrestling in the first fight. Also cool how it translates with their weapons, Vi's gauntlets are, well, gauntlets, hollow and light, with literal anti grav technology, it's a tool, something that she uses, not part of who she is, where Sevika's arm is assumedly heavy? with all the complex machinery, its embedded into her and on one side, a part of her, probably making her imbalanced, physically and mentally. She often does the most damage with non brawling moves like her sword and burning Vi w her arm, contrast to Vi finishing her with her bare hands as well as that Vi's only non brawling based move we see is her barrier, which is Vi using power defensively. ANYWAY i will pause here before i freak someone out with my weird passion for overanalysing fight scenes and their symbolism i just needed to get this out of my system. maybe i should start a bar fight
