Context: Alia Bhatt (girl crying) is in love with Varun Dhawan (guy running through the rain) but she married to Aditya Roy Kapur (first guy) because of some reasons.....so she cant be with Varun. So in this song I guess she basially just accepted her role as Aditya Roy Kapur's wife and consummated the marriage even though she really didnt love him but she I think was hurt by Varun (I forgot that part) and Varun was running to come & stop her....but he was late. Also the woman dancing, Madhuri Dixit...is Varun's mother.

It's even better in the context of the lyrics and the story! "Never have I prayed for you, but neither have I wished you harm" The woman in orange is the mother of the man you see running in the rain. She is watching her son go through a similar experience to what happened to her when she was younger. She fell in love with a wealthy, upper class man (older dude sitting in the car) and they had an affair, which produced her son, but the father ultimately abandoned them in favor of retaining his high social status. Now her son is in love with a woman who is married to a wealthy man (the couple you see sleeping together) and she fears her son will experience the same betrayal. I think the song is about when you love someone, but also hate them for what they have done to you, and find yourself trapped between those two opposites. It's paralyzing. Neither can you find happiness with someone who has abandoned you, nor find solace in revenge because you cannot bring yourself to harm them.

I am impressed on how accurately this boy (who is clearly not an Indian with a Spanish/Portuguese Name) follows the detailed complexity just in his expression, he is super perceptive to the science of Indian Music. Ancient Indians (Greater India which includes Afghanistan to Indonesia) have mastered the science of music and its impact on humans; for example, different raga's are meant for different times of the day and night and will have its effect only in those times, mantras are chanted with a tune that calms down and energises at anytime of the day, and so on.. good music directors use a lot of this grandma knowledge from classical music..but godly music composer Ilayaraja uses the science itself, and has done it throughout his career, especially in background scores..they are so complex that these days he explains the meaning behind those compositions..unfortunately they are in Tamil only. very nice story I appreciate it a lot but one thing to note, many people have different opinions and in other videos I would wait till the end and many people would tell me to pause and speak on a specific part as many songs have many little things to note or pickup that I might miss/forget by the end so many viewers told me to pause in the middle of it to ask or point out, it really boils down to everyone's different, so I follow how I feel, and most importantly to add to your story If I was at a concert or seeing this live I would never interrupt it, but as this is a music video and many have seen this before, its not as bad as lets say a Ghost performing live as that performance is a once in a lifetime experience and you CANNOT go back/replay a part over and over like you can in a KZbin video, these details matter, and I wanna emphasize that I would never interrupt anyone LIVE, but thanks again for your support
