Even in his performances it came across that Mr. Del Carlo had a very soft and vulnerable side and this made him excellent in buffa roles. And this particular production was not only superbly sung, it was genuinely funny!

+Lynda Smith You are absolutely right. It was the most wonderful production of this opera I have ever seen. It was fantastic. I saw it at the Met in 2010 but I also bought the DVD afterwards and play it every now and then and it is always very amusing as well as being a great musical performance!!
