I think many people are comparing this to Wallace's train games, but to me it seems more like Brass Jr. than Age of Steam Jr. as it has that same dynamic of wanting everyone to want to take the resources you made available, rather than wanting everyone to want to use your track. Though I guess this is arguably splitting hairs. Nice video, thanks.

I agree, that's the first thing that came to mind when I read this game's rules. This game has an interesting wrinkle in that spaces containing resources actually block routes, so that taking the last resource from a space may open up routes to other resources in ways you may or may not want.

It's definitely a "gateway plus." It's not quite as intuitive or family friendly as Ticket to Ride, but the younger children I played it with got it after a few turns. It's a great intro to pick-up and deliver. I think it's really solid for medium-weight gamers as well. We've played it a dozen times or so, and still going strong.

As far as I know, this game wasn't the game that Martin Wallace took to space Cowboys. I think he took the arrival but they weren't interested and ended up taking on this. It's a nice little game.

Great game. It's been a succes with my family and can't recomment it enough for begginers+. Easy to play plus the beautiful components makes it a winner.

I've played 4-player games of Via Nebula before but I played this for the first time with 2 players yesterday night and wow, was I pleasantly surprised. While higher player counts make the game more tactical, playing it with 2 almost feels like a game of chess. Came here to see what your thoughts on the 2-player game were :)

This looks like such a fast-playing game. Really really quick.

There are gamers, gamers with families, newbies and newbies with families. There's probably only one of those groups this game won't appeal to. I'm not a heavy gamer, have a good collection and many times don't play with other hobby gamers so this works for me.

Same for me! When I'm looking for a game I consider this detail as one of the most important, because if I take a heavy game I know that most of my friends won't play to it...

Both this and Railways of the World have been on my wish list for a bit. In your opinion, are they different enough to justify owning both? If you had to own just one, which would it be?
@rahdo7 жыл бұрын
i do own both, but if i had to choose one it would be RotW. we keep VN around as a great light game that we could play with boardgame newbies basically. we keep RotW around to play for ourselves, especially with the europe or UK maps which work great with 2 :)

rahdo I own both and I agree rotw is the better game, but this gets brought out much more often. Fun as gateway plus and gamer game.

Sadly, Via Nebula does not hold up for experienced gamers. It seems very dilute and either side.of the board feels the same

I was disappointed how light this game was. There is almost no meat on the bone here, but agree completely that it works as a gateway game.
@ramonosuke7 жыл бұрын
Agree as well. Was hoping it'd be more heavy, but still approachable like Ticket to Ride or other gateway games.
