guys this is the first time in almost 5 fucking years I am not homeless anymore. I am spending the first night in a place that is mine that has my name on a piece of paper. This is the first song I played in this space. I was beat up, sexually assaulted, overdosed, watched people die in front of me and had to hold back my tears, spent so many nights feeling the cold cement enter my bones as I gripped the last thing that wasn't stolen from me (usually a cell phone and some headphones), and lost too many good people along the way who never made it back inside. Good people. Smart people. People who make you better for knowing them. And while the irony of this song isn't lost on me. Right now I feel it so fucking hard that I hope everyone overcomes whatever it is that ailed you. There is no good reason to ever give up if you want to keep living. That's a hell of a lesson to learn.

I like this song a lot, it highlights the chaotic ups and downs you feel when you're trying relentlessly to quit. One minute you're feeling amazing for being a mere week sober, the next you're zooted out of your mind and you feel like all your efforts are for nothing, and then 3 hours later you're sober and you have to tell yourself that's an accomplishment so you can have the strength to push further.
