Im surprised people think Satelite internet is a viable source. You are literally sending signal to bounce off something in space! Latency/ping is going to be awful and if there is any weather - bye bye connection. Oh and if you use it to much they kick you off. Soft cap my ass, they say you still have connection which is true but its just so damn slow you cannot do a thing. I hated taking service calls for any satelite company as a phone support agent, glad I no longer am at that job.

I am lucky to be able to watch a youtube video at 144p without constant buffering. Literally takes a minute to load 10 seconds of video in 144p. Absolute garbage for $70.00 per month. Waiting for my Starlink equipment to show up so I can CAN THIS GARBAGE.

They are idiots. My wife was at her parent's house which is out in the middle of nowhere. There is no cell signal out there. So the internet went down and the house phone is also on the same service. So she had to wait till she was in town again to call them for service from her phone. They never showed up for the appointment. They had called to confirm and since nobody answered they didn't show. Turns out they called the phone number connected to service they were supposed to work on.

We had sky internet here in the uk it was terrible by the end it would Go off until it was night time then it would come on for a few hours. It was god-awful wasn't too bad when we first had it installed but it got worse and worse. We constantly had to reboot the router total rip off. And when we phone to cancel it after being with them for say 20 plus years they just said okay and that was that they didn't care about our business and the fact we had been a customer for decades.

I've had wild blue, ATT (who bought one of these satellite co) and I've had Hughes Net and now ViaSat. My contract was up in March 2022 but I didn't have any other options. I just learned I can get T-Mobile 5G. I'm waiting on the gateway. Should be here tomorrow. I will save $2,500 a year if it works for us. ViaSat was the best solution of any of the prior satellite I had but it cost me and arm, a leg, and my sanity. If T-Mobile works for us, I will be cancelling faster than you can say "PING"... wish us luck... my only reservation is the distance to the tower and the fact our property sits in a valley and the tree tops in our rural area surround our house. I've had T-Mobile phone service for 1 year though and it far out-performs my prior ATT service with a consistent 3-4 bars on LTE. My ATT service required I go out on my deck to take a call, tilt the phone from my ear at a 45degree angle and wait for the service to catch up to my speaking speed... OMG... it was a nightmare. So...long and short of this... I can't wait to try it and I have hopes it will outperform Viasuck and I can finally have decent internet.

@@JohnBuis for the most part it has been great... beside confusion with my order, confusion with my billing and now a problem with youtube restricted mode and content filtering on web sites. I'm getting aggravated because their support team doesn't know how to resolve these problems.

UPDATE: turns out T-mobile had a content filtering feature turned on and only they can remove it. Given that, I finally spoke to an expert who actually knew what to do and resolved it. It took about 1 hour of troubleshooting but the person I spoke to named Lou (a lady) was so helpful and finally resolved it. All is well and now we're running this gateway Nokia5G21 without problems.

On the T-Mobile, you stated that your getting 50 milli-bits per second.. Does it look like this 50Mps or something else.. Like for example on my junk internet- 780 Kps .. The higher is Mega or Mps - Let me know.. I'm in deep fringe country and need a faster system.. Couple of us play a game on our computers and it really sux when you hit a bunch or group of other players, then my Internet speed is overloaded to cause my 70 ping to jump to a 3 second stand still on my char... I'll jump on T-Mobile right now and see what they are offering.. I would like your review of how it works for you IF you play high speed gaming. Thanks in Advance..

@@JohnBuis Ok, I had to download an app onto my 5G phone which is FREE for 3 months of use to see if I got 5G in my area. After couple days I went back and purchased the 5G Modem. After hooking it up and checking different spots I could only get 2 bars with the modem with the speed being around 20 Mbps to 60 Mbps.. If it stays solid, I'll be a happy user.. 5 Mbps is much better than the other slow 700 or less Kbps that I had to endure for the last 3 years. Glad I ran across your video...

1 - viasat actually steals back some of the bandwidth they sell you each month. I proved that in a video where I unplugged the modem from my computer, yer the modem still showed massive amounts of activity. 2 - The second year of my 2 year contract was pure hell! I was losing internet connection on average of 15 times a day, requiring me to unplug each time to reset the connection! 3 - they have taken to charging their customers a "property tax fee", claiming counties/states are billing them for those dishes outside customer's homes. I checked with both my county and state revenue offices, and NEITHER of them are billing viasat for those dishes! 4 - Viasatnot only makes it difficult for customers to leave when the contract is up, if the customer used a bank account or debit card as payment method viasat will grab upwards of $350 from the customer, and say "if you want the money back you're going to have to sue us".
