If you are just joining our Reaction Video Journey here on the Boom Box I mentioned I loved All Music that will bring a good vibe. I will just about listen to any genre. Rock is no exception. I love Rock music Classic and Present. Our track for today is a great group from the 70’s Bachman-Turner Overdrive with the track “ Let It Ride ” this is a track that will get your blood flowing in any situation. You can’t be a fan of rock if you don’t like Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
"Let It Ride" is a 1974 single by Bachman-Turner Overdrive, written by Randy Bachman and Fred Turner, The tune was inspired by a traffic incident. While on tour in 1973 supporting The Doobie Brothers, the band was on a highway in their tour bus and got boxed in by a couple of trucks. When the bus and the trucks reached a rest area, the musicians confronted the truck drivers, who responded by saying the band should take it easy and just let it ride.

The first concert I ever went to was 1973 or 4. First band was their first appearance in the USA called Thin Lizzy. The next band was from Detroit that we had not heard of called Bob Segar. The last and lead band was BTO. What a night.................I remember some of it.

Cheers from Canada. Grew up on Canadian groups like BTO. Their song “Four Wheel Drive” wasn’t one of their biggest hits , but it was my favourite. A couple other songs I’d recommend if you haven’t heard are April Wine “Roller” , and Burton Cummings “Never Had Lady Before”. (Burton was the lead singer of the group The Guess Who. But this song is from his solo career). I think you might dig all three songs.

Loved your backstory on the song .. I did not know that. Very cool! .. I did grow up in the 70's. I say it all the time .. It was a great decade of music, movies, television shows and 'simpler times' .. At least in respect that most people were not uptight about every little thing 'said' creatively (even American history). We were taught and learned to take the good w/the bad so not to repeat past events in the future.

Nice. Don't get to hear BTO too often these days. This caught my attention because Randy, like Burton Cummings, is from my hometown. So is this a challenge thing? Folks try to find things they think you have never heard? i.e. "Juniper" by Begonia* or does it have to be something that was a chart topper back in the day? i.e. "Gimme some loving" by the Spencer Davis Group For something not rock, try William Prince "Spark" from the Nashville Sessions. * Mentioned because it was the second most played song in my iTunes library even though she is very obscure.
