17:30 the other bts members' lesson actually! :) Jin, V and Jungkook received vocal lessons before their debut as bts when they were trainees but Jimin did not. So when they debuted he actually had the least amount of vocal training in the group. Bts themselves talk about this in Yoo Quiz On The Block (you should watch that show! It has funny moments and a lot of information)

Thanks for your reaction. Jimin did not receive vocal training as the other members did as he joined very late and was many times close to getting cut because he had a lot to keep up with the group type of music, style, image etc.. one correction is he didnt sit outside another artist listening on the lesson. It was that Jimin would ask V and JK to let him sit in during their vocal lessons to learn on the side and then practice what he learned on his own in his own time. Not sure why the company didnt provide him the lessons. The reason he got this far was because he practiced desperately very hard and extremely persistent to make it work and focused on improving himself. I believe his training in kendo helped him with this persistence which is how people get surprised with the level he is at now. People around him say he is a hard-working type of genius who will not give up and is strongly driven until he makes it work. So for average person like me where I also find myself struggling to keep up with others find jimin truly an inspiration to keep trying. Thank you again for the nice reaction 😊

Jimin was able to sing since very young. His father said it in an interview. It's just that he didn't train for it before becoming a trainee. And yes, he had to ask to watch & listen while other members of BTS had actual vocal lessons (he said it himself in a TV interview & it was confirmed by Jungkook). He trained in dance in Busan Arts High School and was already used to perform before joining BTS. There's a video of him having a little solo in the performance alongside his school mates at his dance teacher wedding. Taeyang is his idol, I'm so happy he got to do this collab with him!

Jimin’s voice is unique & angelic in the true essence. It gives a vibrant color and stirring emotions in each and every song. He works very hard, that’s a given fact, as people around him attest. His vocals and visuals in VIBE make Army jump off our feet the first time we saw this video & now it’s on repeat! We all wished though that he’d be topless and hardcore dancing too but we figured that would be the death of us so ok, all good! 🤩😅 So happy for Jimin to be doing this collab with Taeyang who he looks up to since he was young. As many of ya'll may know, Jimin was the last member to join BTS. He has an astounding background in contemporary dance, popping, hip hop, martial arts, etc in which helped him be onr of the main dancers in BTS. He originally did not sing and would listen in on the vocal lessons that Jungkook and V would get. Whatever he learned he would use it to improve his singing and it truly paid off. Jimin has the most unique, breathtaking vocals in the entire music industry 😍

FUN FACT: Jimin was almost kicked out of BTS (pre-debut) around 8 times bc people in the agency didn’t think he’d do well in BTS and that his dance style was too influenced by his contemporary training and not suited for the typical kpop styles. I can’t imagine A BTS without all 7 of them. They all bring such a unique talent to the group. 💜 Also, if I remember correctly, Jimin used to listen in on Taehyung and Jungkook’s vocal lessons. He’d stay up until 4am practicing everything, sleep a couple of hours, and then have to be up around 6am for school (he was still in high school at this time). Jimin’s work ethic is insane and it’s said by so many people - by both the members and those who are privileged enough to work with him. 😊

Jimin is SO remarkably and naturally talented; I just wished to point out how he proved any of his doubters wrong. Since he did have less time to train, the fact he’d stay up most of the night perfecting his skills just shows how steadfast and unstoppable he is. And he did that as a teenager! I definitely didn’t possess that strength and determination as a teen. I am in AWE of him as an artist and as a human-being. Period. Throughout any and all hardships, Jimin has remained the most genuinely kindest and thoughtful person. I just thought it was important to share that he faced his own struggles and roadblocks and proved himself a million times over. BTS wasn’t complete until he came and made them Seven. 💜

Jimin rlly looked up to Taeyang a lot. Especially back in the days when they were in their hiphop era i kept wonder why did Jimin remind me of Taeyang so much. And then i saw him sing Taeyang’s song all the time and i knew it. Jimin only had 6 months training vs 2 to 3 years for everyone else in group. He asked to watch. Junkook and V vocal lessons and then practiced until 4 am and then got up about 6:30am to go to school. He called his dad every month not knowing if he would make BTS and to not be disapponted in him. He was promising his dad if not he would be successful somewhere. He is often commended by members as hardest working. Taeyang also commented on Jimin's work ethic in interviews. Love live version of Vibe even more.

17:31 there was a good variety show called "You quiz on the block" where jimin said he watched jk n v's vocal training from the outside of their practise room.... jimin has shortest training period (less than a year), and he worked soo hard to the point he practised all night, slept at 4 am and going to school at 6.30, everyday

This a piece of K-pop history 1. Teddy park the head of black label and one of the composers/producers on this track was a member 1tym a K-pop hip hop gen 1 group from YG who debuted 1998.. PD bang was inspired by 1tym to create BTS 2. Taeyang is a vocalist/dancer with BIGBANG the biggest male group of gen 2 K-pop and under YG… And an inspiration and influence for Jimin 3. Loved that you did this! Jimin mentioned Taeyang as the idol he looked up to and there are compilations showing Taeyang's performances and young BTS Jimin copying him. SUGA interviewed Taeyang on his new show, and he shared that all of BTS were fans and looked up to Big Bang, the group Taeyang is in. I have never seen SUGA fanboy so much. He was actually giddy! SUGA said Big Bang was such an influence on BTS. There are videos of the members copying Taeyang's songs as well. As for video games, there are episodes where BTS plays on line games with professional gamers, I remember the name Faker, can't remember the rest. They broke up into two groups and played against eo. There was another one where it was BTS and 2 MCs and they split into two teams to battle eo. Check it out if you can.

Suffice it to say, I cannot get enough of this song. Jimin and Taeyang match so well in this song. Their styles are very different and they complement each other. I am still floored by how generous Taeyang was to give a large part to Jimin. I had to learn more about him because he impressed me. And Jimin's voice! Wow. He gave me chills. He has worked incredibly hard to hone his vocal instrument and the fact that he is still growing and stretching makes me absolutely impatient for his solo work. Also, this is a great intro to K-pop in general if or when you check out other groups. You noticed one trademark immediately, which is that Kpop--I mean the industry as well as Korean pop music (from pop to indie to kbands)--dips into many genres even in one song. There just doesn't seem to be the tendency to put music in boxes that we have in the States.

Awesome reaction thanks. Yes Jimin had no vocal training prior to debut as BTS. While other vocal line (Jin Taehyung and Jungkook) received their vocal training he listened to them and later practised on his own. Actually Jimin didnt know how to sing even after bts debuted, Suga mentions this to taeyang and jimin has said this countless of times he would ask to just sit in while the other members got vocal practice and what he heard he would stay up and try to replicate in his own time, he also rarely slept jimin said in an interview he would. be up praciticing until 4 am and then have to wake up at 6am for school and continiously did t his for 6 months. Yet they gave him the lead vocalist and Main dancer position, JImin has worked so hard even. The other members have attested to saying Jimin works the hardest and Suga has said thats what scary about jimin eevn when you think its perfect he wouldnt rest until he thinks its perfect. The real story is he didn't get vocal lessons from a professional coach during his training period and he said himself in an interview in the tvshow "the quiz" that he used to ask his company to let him watch v and jungkook during their vocal lessons and he went and rehearse by his own what he watched during their lessons.

Yay! So glad you guys checked this out. I saw you did the live performance in a part 2 but, if you have the time and you're interested, you could maybe do a part 3 with the MV shooting sketch of Vibe that Bangtantv put out today. It shows Jimin's perspective of him preparing for the MV and talking about him being a fan of Taeyang and you get to actually see them interact. It's such an adorable big bro/little bro dynamic. I don't know Taeyang very well but he seemed really nice to Jimin in the sketch. He also seemed nice to Yoongi when he went onto Yoongi's KZbin talk show (Suchwita - episode 3) to chat about Vibe and collabing with Jimin (Yoongi was just as adorable when he was fanboying too). It's also worth a watch/reaction if you have the time and you want to. No pressure of course. You probably already have your schedule.
