Amazing actor. Like most, you don’t really appreciate their talent fully until you see them in something else, and they’re entirely different. Some actors keep their own voice and even their mannerisms, true actors though, really get invested in the character they’re portraying, and live it. As an example, I watched a film called The Trench (1999) this week, starring Daniel Craig, (James Bond) playing a war-weary Scouse Sergeant, and a very young, almost unrecognisable, Cillian Murphy, in a WW1 Trench, at The Somme - almost the biographical ‘prequel’ to his life as Thomas Shelby - except he wasn’t a SGT Major in The Trench, I think he played a Royal Fusilier - there were multiple infantry regiments who had platoons interspersed along the front, all waiting to go over the top….. very atmospheric.
