With Solomons you can never know if he is trying to fuck with you or if he's just genuinely being weird/insane. Here he very well could've planned to keep his eyes shut specifically for the arrival of the Italians to showcase how little they mean to him and to have control of the flow of the conversation or it might've all been a coincidence and well, he has to finish the "session" now, doesn't he? Surely they're not bothered by it, it's just his eyes that are closed, he is still very much present.

At 2:30 it becomes obvious that Solomons has no intention of playing ball with Luca and his goons. From that point forward, it's hard to understand why Luca continues to negotiate. Luca not only continues to entertain Solomons and endure his insults, but also reveals his plan for how he intends to kill Tommy and his family. Once it was clear Solomons didn't want to play ball, they should have killed him so he couldn't alert Tommy to what they intended to do. Solomons is an awesome character, and I'm not saying that's what I would want to happen. But realistically, Solomons should have died here.
