Your wife might have your back does she really? I was married 32 years things were great at first eventually especially if you have kids she will eventually ignore you like my wife did But I still worked and busted my ass with little or no recognition because she was used to it and no matter what I did it wasn’t good enough this song is Brilliant our fucking government doesn’t give 2 shits about you and me I know I shaved 10 years off my life making sure my wife & kids were happy and all these years later I’m not happy how the fuck does that work I’m one of hundreds of thousands that did what they did unfortunately we are not happy with everything and hardly anything

I've watched about 100 reactions (can't get enough of them). Strange, it is never mentioned, so far, about Illegal Aliens getting Welfare (I live in Texas). I can only attribute it to the fact that we listening are in such a "come-together" , patriotic moment that we aren't thinking about that. I kind of feel a little bad bringing it up because I feel so much love for my fellow watchers (of this video) loving this moment of Truth. Oh well.

As a young boy living in California back in the 1980s, welfare put food on our table for years. YES, my mom abused that for a while as well. But eventually, she busted her ass got clean, and got off welfare. Then she learned a skill in her 30's after I left her to live with my dad, after another 10 years working as a maid, getting her GED, learning to be a paramedic she finally got a good job, Where she wasnt in poverty anymore. She hated being in welfare too.

It's the most powerful song I've heard in a very long time. It hits your soul directly. It's resonating with ALL Americans. Even people in other countries. A local radio station came out to his land and recorded this and posted it just a few days ago. He's so surprised. Lol. He lives off grid with his dogs. A month ago he was struggling with alcohol and depression. That's why the high suicide rate of young men in our country is addressed in the song. He fell on his knees and prayed to God. It was after that the radiowv scouted him and recorded this. He has several songs on the top 10. The rest of his songs are recorded from his iPhone lol. He played at the farmers market yesterday and there was standing room only. Everyone was singing along. There was 25 acres of parked cars! Instead of plugging himself or his social media he started his performance with reading from psalms about how the wicked will not prevail. He said last month he played for 20 people. When you said he had an angelic voice you were spot on. He's reaching all of us.

Every lyric in this song hit me so hard. My children have only ever seen me cry once, when my father died, and I had to go hide when i heard this song as it had me sobbing and i didn’t want them to see me. That might seem odd to some, but the absolute pressure to always be a pillar of strength and provide is sometimes overwhelming, but in doing it for so long i don’t know a different way . This song just laid out how I and I know so many others feel, tired, frustrated and just beaten by life. I needed that good cry, thank you Oliver.

I'm retired now, but for 25 years, I was a protectictive services social worker for children and elderly in my state. There was an income cap on every college degree you had, and only way to increase your pay was to get a higher degree. My ex husband left my child and I for another woman and didn't pay child support or alimony and he left me with a 1st and 2nd mortgage to pay in addition to household bills. I tried to get foodstamps to help us but was told I didn't qualify! Yet I saw others, sitting on their butts all day at home, CHOOSING not to work and their grocery carts were PILED HIGH with everything in the world plus gorgeous cuts of meat while my son and I were living on hot dogs and hamburger helper. It was so unfair. But I was blessed in fact that my father was a farmer, so we had fresh vegetables that we picked and froze in summer, to eat in winter. Many nights we ate waffles to fill us up. I couldn't afford to go back to school to get another degree to increase my pay. I was too damn exhausted to think straight when I got home plus I had to help my son with his 3 hrs of homework every night so when would I have time to do my own? I didn't. But yet I didn't qualify fir ANY programs to help us? It was a dark time but I kept my head down and kept pushing. It's all any of us can do. Make payment arrangements with your utility companies to line up with your paychecks, utilize food pantries and school supply giveaways, and shop thrift stores and garage sales all you can till things get better. So, to whoever reads this, if you need words to encourage you, let me tell you this, keep pushing forward and utilize whatever resources you can find to help yourself. You may have to dig deep to find them, but they are there and you WILL make it. Send love, blessings and hugs to all! Thank you dear sir for your reaction. May God bless you always. ❤❤🎉🎉😊

I’ve been stuck watching reactions to this song for days now. I can’t seem to get enough. I guess I just love seeing everyone coming together over something. Finally. I heard you say this goes to the ‘blue collar’ community. I just want to say that it also goes to the white collar as well. It’s for every one of us that are not in that elite, top 1 or 2 or 3 percent. I was blue collar most of my life. One day I decided to take out that student loan and go to college and now I’m white collar. But we still struggle our asses off. The wife and I are still paycheck to paycheck most of the time. I don’t want to seem like I’m lying in to one sentence you said, trying to tear it down or anything like that. Just want to make it clear that this song is resonating with all of us in the bottom 98%. I’ve seen people try to claim that this is a right-wing conservative anthem. And I push back on that too. It’s not right or left. It’s for all of us that wake up everyday and work our asses off. Yes, I’m white collar, and liberal(ish), but I still work my ass off every day. And my wife’s a nurse, you best believe she does as well. We have 3 kids. And we make too much money to even consider getting any assistance. Yet, we don’t make enough money to take the kids to Disney. We’re just stuck working everyday to pay our bills and keep us all fed and clothed. Sorry. This shouldn’t be this long. Love this song. Love seeing all the reactions. Love seeing people come together to relate to the same struggles. We gotta get out of our political tribes and start working together to demand more for ourselves and our country. Peace and love bro.

I'm a 62 year old white man and people should see the system we have wants to divide us - this song speaks from the heart. I truly believe he is blessed by God to send this message (and others) to us all. God uses His people like this. At a recent concert he read from Psalm 37. Read it and know His word is encouragement to His people. God speaks through Oliver's lyrics.

It is a sadly timeless song. 100 years ago the Battle of Blair Mountain happened, the largest labor uprising in US history. And it happened in that part of the world, Appalachia. And it was coal miners, wish politicians would look out for miners. Those labor movements led to gains that eventually, along with other factors, got us into the 50s and 60s when you could get a livable wage job with a high school diploma and get a house, a car, and raise a family on a single income. The decline since the 70s has been dramatic and we are right back to where we were in 1921 when the Battle of Blair Mountain happened.

What do you think is about to happen??? Something is coming, at least I pray we won’t fight anymore amongst ourselves. We can’t so much work to do and no one man can fix it. I have been selling my soul, your souls have already been bought by The blood Jesus Christ and He wants His property back!!! Our souls are wasting away

I've watched every reaction video I could find on this song and your reaction is perfect - I like how Oliver's pained and soulful voice reaching for those high notes makes you scrunch up your face like that - I do the same thing every time I hear him do it. And like you said, he's got the perfect voice for the words that are coming out of his mouth. Also love how you stomp in your seat and holler "FACTS!!" - I was doing the same damn thing. This is one of the best songs I've heard in many, many, many years. Thanks for your awesome reaction!

Loved your reaction, while all the media educators and politicians are working as hard as they can to keep us divided, so we don’t notice what they are doing to keep EVERYONE down. You spoke truth when you said Oliver is speaking for everyone. It’s not “race” it’s ALL of us. God Bless you and your family my AMERICAN brother, from a paler mother!

I love seeing people react to the very first line of the song! Notice how you immediately set up straighter and leaned in closer?? He really does reach out and pull you in by your very soul! We needed this now more than ever. We're exhausted and FED UP. Our men are given unrealistic pressures and expectations and nothing is ever enough! Long live Oliver Anthony! ❤

My take on this is that the government (Fed, State, Local) has their hands so far down in my pocket that they should AT LEAST take me out to dinner. I started working at age 12 - babysitting, but it's a job - and at 18, I made the $2.62 minimum wage and was able to save half my paycheck. Before I was laid off and retired, I made over 60K and barely kept body and soul together because of all the nickel and dime taxes and fees levied by everybody and his brother. Love Oliver Anthony! Great song - I just hope enough people hear it.

This is a song of unification that transcends race, class, and culture. It is the “rich men north of Richmond” that sow chaos and division amongst the people. This is a ballad for the common man/woman striving to get somewhere and getting nowhere. Love your review.
