i'm not sure we'll ever see a generation of skaters like broskow, farmer, haffey, cheshire, bambrick who not only had the talent but created an entire "scene" around themselves and single handedly controlled the zeitgeist of skating. the years from 2000-2008 was truly a high water mark in skate history. im glad i was there, maybe not in person...but watching it all go down thru the dvds, mags, and vhs tapes. it was a sight to behold, just some kids creating an entire subculture by themselves. props forever! you are immortal.

Man, seeing this pop up in my recs brought it back. I haven't skated in about 15 years and am in my 30's but to this day, every time I'm out and see a clean rail I picture what it would be like to be skating it. KFC 1 and 2 were some of the best videos out at that time. Funny how much alex's style has changed. Skating and fashion.

My man, are you me? I haven't skated in 15 years myself. Just bruised my knee slightly getting back at it. Nothing big, but it feels HUGE! Its not just watching it all back like you do, its living it all like back than too... My XSJADO's still rocking hard after all this time. I would suggest you try a fun little skatepark yourself. or some street stuff if thats your speed ^^ You will love it!

I'm 36 + 6 weeks and just watched this and was transported back to 20 years ago. Skating almost daily with my best friend. Just copped a new set of Them Skates to shake the cobwebs off. Thanks to Adam and Jeromy and Jeremy and everyone for inspiring me to keep pushing a million years ago at Lake Owen.

Wild to say I’m watching this again in 2024 after all these years of rewatching this part. I’m 20. Never got to live through this era but yet it still resonates with my soul entirely, the editing, the intricate crazy tricks the transitions literally everything about this part is perfection. And don’t get me started with that ending, I still murmur a quiet “wow” out of pure fascination at that final clip. Shits wild.

Landed my first frontside slide (at 29 years old) today and watching this is mind blowing. I’ve been into blading since I was a kid but was more bmx/scooter focused. Recently picked up some blades to finally give it a go and WOW, I appreciated the tricks before, but now it’s a whole new game, the way he moves so effortlessly between switch ups is insane! I love that rewatching all these old edits are now a whole new experience thanks to now owning and getting to have fun on blades. Shout out to everyone that’s been keeping the blade game going all these years.
