I just ordered a pair for the black Friday sale. The tread is the same as the alphas which I love.

I need to know how well they do at keeping beach sand out. I need a good water shoe that wont fill up with sand.

Have you tested these? I need the same😄

They do not keep out sand that great , the opening ( draining holes ) the sand goes up. I have owned them for nearly a year . I go paddlebaording, kayaking and beach running.. its best to use these to run/trail run best if it rains..but not sand. The back velcro is useless when wet.

If you've actually worn these shoes you would recognize that the toe separation, while having a learning curve to put on, isn't noticeable. You don't even feel the material between the toes. Furthermore, if you hadn't noticed, everyone who wears coffin/box shoes have deformed toes which are bent inward as a result of the coffin/box shoes pushing inward on their outer toes. This leads to serious medical foot problems later in life needing surgery in order to give pain relief, to say the least. Lastly, to say the least, the cushioning and even the slightest incline of coffin/box shoes doesn't allow your foot to function as it's designed, let alone allow you to sense the walking surface in order for your brain to respond quickly to terrain issues, which in turn leads to sprained ankle or worse, weakens your muscles and tendons, and also leads to other foot ailments later in life. By wearing a minimalist shoe such as these, it allows your feet, the foundation of your body, to function as designed which in turn allows your entire body to work properly. A win-win for an old healthy body provided you eat healthy too.

If you actually didn't make assumptions, your comments would have been somewhat helpful.

@@UltimateSurvivalGear the point is, it takes time to strengthen your toes in these shoes, so initially, yea, it feels uncomfortable. After months of wearing them though, your toes begin to separate and spread more when you walk, and that’s when the benefits are truly uncovered. It doesn’t happen the first couple of weeks. It took me the better part of 5 months to become completely comfortable wearing and walking long distances in these shoes. It was at the lake, walking steep trails that I realized the way my feet had completely changed. You have to give them time, and let your muscles adjust to that change. I almost gave them up, but I’m glad I didn’t in the long run. I think most people toss them in the trash before they realize the benefits of these shoes.

I would be swimming & jogging with these in the pool. Have you tried them in the pool for traction?

Jogging in the pool? Is that a thing? I would do that if it was a thing.

You really do not enjoy the fingers at all, do ya? :D I think theyre nice. You gotta get used to it first but I think the material is pretty soft and feels nice as soon as it doesnt feel weird anymore. Also the effect it is supposed to have is to spread your toes back to a more natural way, since we kind of "ruin" our feet by wearing nowadays standard shoes, even when they have a slightly bigger toebox. Beside that obviously it also is a brand thing. Vibram is basically THE brand for barefoot shoes with those toes ^^
