The v-train 1 is my go to for everything. It's great for road running, trail running, gym and everything else. It's also great for any run distance as I've used in everything from 5k to 50k. My og v-run are nice for short running distances, but I feel it's more rough on the feet after 5-10k.

About 5 years ago I purchased a pair of Vibram Five Fingers shoes. However, I needed ~ 8-10 minutes/shoe to put on and align the toes to the toe slots. I ended up cutting a slice out of the top of the shoes where the toes attach to the foot. Now it only requires ~ 2 minutes/shoe for me to put it on. Is there some secret to quickly align the toes with the slots that I am missing ?
@sonsofsever Жыл бұрын
I always focus on big and second toe first, then I usually go for the pinky, if I get those 3 settled the others seem to line up just fine. It does take extra time no matter what though.

I have the original. V train. There was a hard rubber/plastic below the inner ankle areas that felt like it was digging in your foot and left that area feeling sore at time. Do your brother and you wear different sizes? I have the Outlander, but want a biulder summit. I try to buy vegan if it is an option so i want the nitro. Does it breath better thsn the leather or are they about the same?

Breathes great. I could wear the nitro all year. And the new VTrain is very very soft. Like I said in the video, comfiest 5 finger for me to date

Sorry to pester but I thought of another question. I wear mostly Injinji Run Ultra and Trail socks (pretty chunky socks). Would these shoes support the sock volume in the toe or would something like the Light weight run series be a better option? With the socks I am at 10.66 inches so an EU 44 at 10.75 would be the length but I wonder about the extra volume of the toes from the sock material. Lol, I overthink things a bit sometimes. Thanks, as always!
@sonsofsever8 ай бұрын
No pestering at all. So I got these in my usual size and they work well with or without socks. The material is very forgiving when it comes to fit. Wearing them without socks makes them a little roomy, but not in a bad way at all. Wearing them with socks makes them a little snug but not uncomfortable at all

How's the ankle support? Especially with that lateral movement consideration
@sonsofsever Жыл бұрын
I mean, it’s definitely a little padded at the top near the ankle joint but I wouldn’t call it ankle support since it’s not a high top or anything like that. Strong ankles will obviously be your first best ankle support. If you need more than that, this won’t give you too much in that specific area.
@CtrlAltMoto Жыл бұрын
@@sonsofsever thanks for the quick reply, would you say the vibram 5 finger trek 2 offers more in terms of ankle support?
@sonsofsever Жыл бұрын
@@CtrlAltMoto yes but barely. It’s definitely a higher top, but the ankle portion is very thin and not really padded. If you tighten them tight enough it could be significant

We've never tried Inov8 unfortunately. But if you're gonna pick up some Vibram for running, then we would definitely suggest keeping the mileage shorter for quite some time. They've been durable enough for us so far!

Can the train works as a “watershoe” or is better to use the trail or the KSO EVO for this purpose…???!!! Great video…!!!

Are you looking for multiple uses or just a water shoe? Cause the V Aqua is awesome, we wore it a lot last summer but haven't gotten a review out on it yet
@arquitec6010 ай бұрын
@@sonsofsever Thank you for the answer. Yes i am looking for something that can have multiple uses and can also be use as a “watershoe”, without worrying about get the sand or rocks of the beach inside. And can walk without being slippery i when is wet. I understand that the vibram aqua are good, but i am worried about the grip of the sole outside of the water too. That why i was try to decide between: The KSO EVO, The trail 2.0 or the Train 2.0. But after watching a lot of videos i am not quite sure which is the best for using at the beach or lakes and walk around without have problems about the sand, rocks or slippery surfaces. And also have the chance to dry quick after using in water. Thank you again for your answer. The information in your video is really good. Cheers
@sonsofsever10 ай бұрын
@@arquitec60 while the grip and the materials of all five fingers are going to work nicely for a water shoe, none of them will keep out sand. They keep out rocks and plants and those kinds of things, but you’ll be hard pressed to find any water shoe on the planet that keeps out the sand. I used the vtrail 2.0 for a water shoe until the aqua was sent out to us. Now I exclusively use the aqua as my go to water shoe

This is one of the models you can definitely do without socks in my opinion. But, depending on the socks, I kinda like socks. Since these are machine washable, you don’t have to worry about them getting super stinky from not wearing socks. But there are times where I want them.

I agree with you, V-train is the most comfortable shoe I have. Whats your opinion on using them for a hike? Should I get another one like V-alpha instead?
@hunterkl6 Жыл бұрын
I can give you an answer. Went into my local hiking shop earlier today to ask one of the guy's in there as he uses barefoot shoes and I wanted a comparison between this and the alpha and trek. He personally prefers the v-train because he finds it gives you more purchase and is more of an all rounder. Also because of the design being able to allow for lateral movement. From what I could tell myself, it seems more versatile as a shoes then the alphas and treks, also he did say that those two models also suffer from a higher abrasion rate on the grips if you are using them on conrete or tarmac paving/roads.
@ibrahimgema6119 Жыл бұрын
@@hunterkl6 i see, thanks for the input! I was concerned about how it'll performs on the more slippery ground
@hunterkl6 Жыл бұрын
@@ibrahimgema6119 I asked about this as well, because I do a lot of hill walking. V-trek will beat it in this department just because of the sole design in terms of lugs etc, however, the v-train will still grip quite well on slippery ground. In terms of the alpha, they hadn't tested it in slippery conditions, but my guess would be that the v-trail would edge it just slightly again due to the grip design. Vibram in general is typically very good in this department anyway so there won't be much difference.
