Trane AC unit had a very bad vibration coming from the compressor.

I usually use with great success the slow motion video capture feature on my phone to see the severity of the vibration of a refrigeration system 😊

We had some small 1/3HP compressors situated on springs from an ULT freezer supplier. They thought that springs would decrease the noise. ( earlier rubber based ) It ended up so badly😬The noise by 50hZ versus the origin 60hZ at the home marked was terrible. The worse was that the compressor tubes cracked like biscuits after a short while. Seen a lot of half hermetic Copelamatic run so decent and quiet due to a better harmony between the springs on them. The higher weight of the cast iron compressors did help too. Some rubber mounted get the correct rubber density and behave wonderfully, too few make the match Always great to see your missions out there😊

Its shivering because it's cold. No crank case heater

Heck yeah brother. I like to tell my clients "time and vibration are usually the issues." In this case. Keep up the great work and ty for the content.

I recently bought a vibration analyzer for motors, pumps etc etc. Good video as always Rick

I knew a guy whose business was purely doing vibration analysis. It pretty much tells you what's getting ready to fail.

I had a Lennox unit like that. When you broken the suction cap free it would spin itself off. 😅

I had that same exact issue a little while ago on a unit just like that too. My pressure probes wouldn’t stay on because of the vibration. They would unscrew themselves.

It's hard to start a trane, or something like that. Symbio is a solution to a problem nobody had.

Need to put service panel on to diagnose. Head pressure will be too high.

I understand that but what I was showing you was the vibration, that's hard to do with the cover on.

I have it, kinda chunky. I do like the way the clamp opens. Don't like the wires it came with, but you might like the fact that they are just small exposed tips.

So far it's been pretty good. It's a little slow on capacity readings however it has a higher resistance capability in rush temperature frequency, and a few other things that it does pretty good on.
@commenter54695 ай бұрын
Excess oil can cause that.
@markm00005 ай бұрын
That’s what I thought. Compressors don’t really just do that on their own.
@HVACRSurvival5 ай бұрын
I suppose that's possible, but then I would be curious as to how the extra would gotten in there unless somebody added to it.
@markm00005 ай бұрын
@@HVACRSurvival there’s a lot of untrained techs running around just throwing new compressors at a problem and completely oblivious of oil balancing. These companies don’t even want to train them right because A) it costs money to train and pay raises from skill. B) it will cause early failure and the customer will eventually buy an entirety new system. Greed has no end.

How do you rate the testo meter?
@HVACRSurvival5 ай бұрын
So far pretty good, the capacitance readings are a little slow to come up but the extra decimal points and the frequency and in-rush is a lot of cool features that my basic 902 doesn't have. This meter been out for over seven years and they're still making it so it must be fairly decent.
