Just a heads up for those in the comments, an interlock is illegal in many jurisdictions, make sure to check code before installing.

I’m still in school but I got hired by this company and they are going to have me after I finish school which I’m rlly looking forward to I just wish there were more videos of working on appliances like the milkshake maker you did
@HVACRSurvival
@HVACRSurvival 11 сағат бұрын
I believe the reason why there aren’t many videos on that type of equipment is because it’s specialized and fewer places have ice cream and milkshake machines so people don’t share videos of it. Everyone has a cooler or freezer. Job security basically.

The secret to ultrasonic leak detectors is using a spray bottle in tandem. Better yet, a hose. A spray down the coil with water as you’re listening for leaks. A wet coil amplifies the sound of the leak dramatically.

You also have hydrogen releasing in the water making noises that can mislead you to believe you have a leak. That’s why I don’t use water.

Inficon is short on the details in its brochure and manual. The CO2 is calculated, but using what and how? N2 is not used, not measured, or what? As much H2O is knocked out in the trap as possible and not measured. So the CO and O2 are measured. The percentages shown are presumed to be "by volume", but what is included in that? Is CO2 (calc), N2 (calc), H2O (would have to be calc), CO2 in the water (calc), CO (measured), O2 (measured)?

Call the factory and ask, I’m not designing tools I’m just using them. I’ve compared it to my Testo and they’re both had the same readings. Here is an explanation of how it’s calculated. www.achrnews.com/articles/106070-performing-a-combustion-analysis

The trifecta is solar, battery and tri-fuel inverter/generator then you can go off grid. I have a battery that will run the house for 24 hours - 9 months of the year. In summer the central air taxes the system but I can continue by using one of my inverter generators late in the evening to top off the batteries before bed.

I’m this exact unit, pressures are 55 and 110psig. Oil in the same spot on the condenser. Going to get a leak check quoted. Did you ever post a follow up video? This was already extremely helpful.

Hey Rick, not sure if you’ll see this but I currently do kitchen refrigeration and got a job offer from a company that does light commercial and heavy industrial HVACR. I want to work on the bigger stuff but they were bought out buy one of those big firms. Any idea if that’s as big of a red flag as it is when it happens to the resi companies? I really want to get into the bigger stuff but I don’t wanna be a salesman lol
@HVACRSurvival
@HVACRSurvival 3 күн бұрын
There were some industrial / larger commercial companies that recently got bought out in our area as well. It’s hard to say what’s gonna happen with those. You can always go somewhere else if things don’t work out. Leave on good terms with your current employer and you can always go back.

I really don't understand why they have to make the lives of everybody that will ever interact with that board miserable by only using 2 switches. They would make back the few cents that the extra button cost per board 10 times over just with the time saved by their employees doing the testing. Nobody wants to learn your weird morse code, make the user interface better. For the record, the minimum number of switches for anything smart enough to have something resembling a menu is 3 (UP, DOWN and OK). An electronics engineer with a rudimentary understanding of ergonomics.
