About 25 or so years ago I met him. We had drinks in New Orleans. I don't know he was a great American poet. I didn't even know his name. We just talked about "The Band" and how great they were. He was just a guy about my age, with Hansen's, I figured. We didn't have problems holding our drinks. My grandmother had Hansen's; always kissed me on the forehead. Wrong Piano. Just another right experience. Who's learning?

I can't remember who first called Vic "a one-man genre" - but they were surely right! A unique genius! Sadly missed!

Great! The Cowboy Junkies version is really great too. Well, the whole album really is great. They loved Vic, and they were supposed to collaborate with him on a record. . . . .

Wish I knew where to get this track digitally. Not on any streaming music services? One of my favorite tracks of all time.
