His acceptance speech was fantastic. Especially when he said that it’s his wish that everyone get to feel this way at least once in their life.

I was 10 years old when I went to my very first hockey game-- it was the last game of the season against the Canadiens at MSG in 1971-1972 when Vic Hadfield scored #49 and #50.

I got all teared up! Remember ALL these great, older players coming so close year after year battling hard to winning a Cup. Kept beating the previous years Cup winners in tbr playoffs so, just showed you how damn good they were! Gresh and Park also need to be up there in the rafters! Two of the greatest offensive defenseman the league ever saw!

Love "the Cat" ! I'm a Habs guy, but I liked many of the Ranger players growing up. I always felt they should have won several Stanley Cups in the 70's.

Life long Springfield area Bruins fan here. It's nice to see the old time Rangers and 'Cat' Francis. He looks great! Great to see Park and Ratelle, too. They played great for the Bruins to finish their careers. Let's hope for a Bruins-Rangers playoff series!

God bless the GAG line, forever linked in the Garden rafters. Glad to see Chris Jericho dad the great Ted Irvine there as well! Ron Greschner #4 should be up there as well!!
@dzanier2 жыл бұрын
Gresch is close, but I’m not sure his number merits retirement. He was a fine player though.
@dzanier2 жыл бұрын
Gresch is a link though. He began his career when that team was winding down it’s eight-year run as a very good team, and ended it when Leetch had become the team’s best player.

think we could put Leetch's wife on the 4th line for some toughness?

Stood by as Dave Schultz mugged Dale Rolfe in his last Rangers game. Disgraceful!
@bobby-jackbrewer73955 жыл бұрын
I've seen that clip where he just stands there and watches Rolfe get pummelled. The funny thing is he dropped the gloves all the time in the 60s.
@robertkriwer23453 жыл бұрын
I agree Jack and that was tough to watch, that game seemed end there.
@jacksmith56923 жыл бұрын
@@bobby-jackbrewer7395 Exactly he had a front row seat with a bad ankle and should of stepped up and started punching Schultz. Francis was so pissed he traded his ass away in 6 weeks to the Penguins for the forgettable Nick Beverley.
@jacksmith56923 жыл бұрын
@@robertkriwer2345 Well to be fair to the Rangers, Rolfe never missed a shift and played a solid game and the Rangers were the team coming on at the end after making the score 4-3. Parent made some good saves and then in the last minute the Rangers were called for a dubious too many men on the ice penalty. Ironically Hadfield was sent to serve the penalty and NBC caught him laughing in the box with fans sipping a guys beer. It was disgraceful! Ratelle always disappeared in the playoffs and Stemkowski stepped up against the Flyers with Vickers and Park.

@@jacksmith5692 ratelle with the rangers had bad playoff stats but when he went to boston he had some huge playoffs actually outplaying bobby clarke one on one in a series against philly and when they met up against montreal three years in a row he had two tremendous series including an overtime winner which was a hat trick for him ps i think i know why because he was better protected on the bruins there is actual video evidence of this on youtube in a playoff game against philly while with the rangers ad van impe cross checks him in the the face throat area and no ranger does anything

This defeats the entire purpose of retiring a jersey.
