Yeah so basically the crashing of the plane into the water with all the prescription drugs and alcohol is a way of Vic saying he quit all of those things and cleansed his body and life. The fire and water shots (heavenly hell types) are in a way kind of biblical metaphors because of baptism and the great flood and how those are both representations of cleansing and wiping away sin. So when he comes out of the water with no tattoos on his body, it's a way of him saying he's a new and changed man. Dig a little deeper with the Bible references (I know it's crazy lol but) and you'll find the Bible directly stating one should not get piercings or tattoos on their body. Notice also how his shirt is white in those shots, white being a color of purity to represent his being "born again" in a sense.
