Nailed it!! It is 100% a camera that nearly everyone who watches these hype videos DOES NOT NEED! If you've bought any Sony camera in the past 3 years, you should be all set. If I really needed 4k/60p, this is the LAST camera I would consider getting. I've hopped off the hamster GAS upgrade wheel too.

I was gonna post a comment, but you said everything I was gonna say. At this point, if you're new to the mirrorless camera game. Just buy a GH7 & call yourself good. There's loads of good micro 4/3 lenses out there too @ good prices

You make a great point, i would love the new mk ii but do I need it and no complaints on my 2 zve10 mk 1s. The 4k 60fps is the one thing i need for certain gym videos I shoot but Iv gotten around it so far.

The 1080 120 on the first zv-e10 was phenomenal. More than enough for most cases.

I just want the live streaming to go up to 1080 and have the availability to record ‘off camera’ (via QuickTime) in 4K as my ZV-e10 mk1 is mainly connected to the Mac.

To counter a crop sensor at close range, throw on a diopter. Most of the time I just recommend getting more space between the camera and subject but for "vlogging" a diopter makes a big difference.

I agree that ibis isnt the biggest deal. I think the pros significantly outweigh the cons. I would like to get one mainly because it is a cheaper fx30 (my A cam) that i can use as a B cam and match the S-cinetone i currently use in my studio. I use the regular zv-e10 as my webcam/desk angle. It's fantastic for that. I could get another zv-e10 for the studio but having the fx30 sensor would be a better match for the studio, plus same battery etc. 👍

I literally just got a ZV-E10 almost a month ago to replace a Canon 4000d (didn't have the features I was looking for, my fault for not doing research beforehand), and they now come out with this?? SMH. Not sure if I'll get this compared to getting a Sony FX3 or 30 (or by the time I get one, they'll probably release a mk II version 😅), but I think I'm good with what I have for what I'm trying to do. Great review!

Yeah. That’s fair fx30 is great. But unless you have a specific need for the zv-e10ii then the original will be perfect. That’s still an amazing camera.

I'm no longer having fun on the Pocket 3 and the original ZV-E10 is unusable a lot of the time when handheld due to rolling shutter and inadequite stab. I almost bit on the A6700 but was waiting on this release. No IBIS so A6700 likely soon for me. I really want the ZV-E1 but can't quite justify the cost and I can't find an optimal vlogging lens for it without compromise. Sony APS-C has a ton of lightweight, inexpensive vlogging options that won't require post production cropping like using them on FF sony Cams. Is that GAS?

I use my Sony ZV-E10 as webcam. I actually have two now because my first one lives in an elegato teleprompter. I use a dummy battery and livestream. I get about two hours plus of use before it overheats. I live in Brisbane, Australia, so at least in that use case overheating isn't that bad.

I dont see a need to upgrade from my dji pocket 3 that is 10 bit and has the best stabilization off all and since there is a crop there isn't a difference with the pocket 3

I was looking for an upgrade from my ZV-1 was looking at the E10 but went for the Canon R50 in the end, the draw of the range of lenses for the Canon won me over...... and the new Sony didn't have IBIS :P

Great video!….I’m really undecided on what to get! I mainly shoot unboxings and would like a camera with good 4k capabilities. My current one is years old and is only 1080. The more reviews I see I’m kind of put off my this Mk 2 now, any suggestions please?

This would be a great step up to be honest. If you need 4k60, if you don’t however, the original is still fantastic. If you’re never going to do anything besides unboxing vids then it’s great. But if you need half decent stabilization then the Mk2 is leaps and bounds ahead of the original (unless you splash the cash for a gimble)

Im using a 4k webcam with remote for live streaming using a tripod 100% of the time. Trying to decide on upgrading.. Sony A6400, 6700, ZV-E10 and now the MKii. The more I watch, the more my brain hurts. I like not needing a capture card with the MKii for 4k streaming though. Just plug and play

One thing to keep in mind with usb streaming is that it’s going to overheat a lot faster than with a capture card.

Fully agree with everything you say , Would i like yes , do i need No , am i happy with my ZVE10 very .Does it warrant me to upgrade to the mk2 , for a extra 600USD really not worth it. The ZVE10 mk1 will do everthing any volgger or content creator needs and general family , My feeling this camera will sell well to certain group of content creators.

I use a sony zv-1 on streamlabs and noticed a small delay between my words and my lips.. Any idea how to fix that its very small but its driving me insane

Hey. It’s an audio sync delay issue. 2 possible fixes. Go to the Advanced tab and check the box that says Use Device Timestamps. This can help to reduce audio latency and sync issues. Click on Done and restart Streamlabs OBS. If the audio delay issues persist, you can try adjusting the Sync Offset of your audio sources in the Mixer panel. Best of luck.

Go for the Pocket 3. I have the OP3 and it's one of the best purchases I've made. The 20mm lens is perfect for most situations. It shoots 10-bit 422 4K and it has the DJI D-Log profile for color grading, if you choose to grade your footage. The OP3 comes with the Mic 2, which allows you to record 32-bit audio, which means you don't have to worry about setting audio levels you can adjust in post without loss in audio quality. Oh, and stabilization? The stabilization of the OP3 is unmatched by any camera except for maybe the LUMIX G9ii or S5ii/x cameras. So, I'd go for the OP3.

Spot on, Vic. I’ve also reached saturation point, both in reviews of new stuff and the gear I have now. Don’t really want any more. Better to concentrate on film making technique than a camera. BTW, when you pronounce ‘Th’ the ‘English’ way, it really sounds weird! I prefer ‘Tanks very much’, but I’m originally a Belfast fella from the 50’s, who needed to lose the ‘T’ for ‘Th’ because I ended up in too many fights as a kid in England. I sat on my hands for damn near a year not purchasing an ZV-E10 because I got sucked into the hype of how much better the Mark II was anticipated to be. Now I'm just kicking myself an wanting my time back. I immediately Pre-Ordered the Mark II from B and H the moment it was announced available for preorder. Then started watching more and more reviews of these content creators painstakingly trying their hardest to convince me (and maybe even themselves) that this camera was worth the upgrade but none of it seemed sincere. The upgrade to 10 bit is really the ONLY upgrade on the Mark 2. I personally don't give a shit about a vertical menu. I don't shoot vertical. The 4K 60 is nice, but honestly, i don't I'll ever use it. If I did that kind of video, I wouldn't be looking at the ZV cameras anyway, i'd be upgrading to something more professional. Hard pass. I wasted a year waiting this and am mad I could have been just enjoying a ZV-E10 all this time. So yesterday i just bought the Mark ONE for $600 and a TAMRON 17-70 Lens and my video is going to kick the shit out of anyone's ZV-E10 Mark II crap. WHAT A WASTE!

For $300 price increase what are we actually getting? All the upgrades are Sony parts bin leftovers. Honestly, if they had given the AI focus chip I’d be like ok, not bad. But holding that back is just cheap. A6700 is the lowest priced camera I’d consider and even then it won’t do half the settings without over heating. I was waiting for this camera, now I’m gonna save up a bit more for a S5ii.
