I wasn’t sure about going auto on my conversion but watching this series you’ve convinced me that it’s the way to go

Loading up the first drive today - part 13 . Watch that one, some gear howling in the differential due to reverse drive of the 4EAT TRANS. I’d still do it again vs keeping the old VW manual trans. It’s sweet to drive for sure!

Great job! Creative solution to the shift cable extension problem we have on these van conversions. I'm interested in seeing what you do for a "console" around the base of the shifter.

I tried to make a quick console using a 1 gallon antifreeze jug, ugly and a failure. Not sure what I’ll do to clean that up….thanks!

That is so Nairobi! Aka N-rigged. I could see these techniques used if your in the middle of nowhere or Laos jungle with no resources but that’s not the case here.

Techniques? Dude - it’s called fabrication using the parts I had on hand. The shifter works flawlessly!

Hey!! you connected the wheels to the engine and did not see how you tackle that on previous videos...:(

@@Perzyouz hey- both the SubaruGears kit and the Reversaru kits come with CV axle flanges that fit the Subaru transmission and have the flange that matches the VW axle flange bolt pattern. So basically you can use your stock VW CV axles! Sorry that wasn’t clearer

Never breathe in carb cleaner vapor after spraying on hot metal unless you want to go to the hospital and have long term lung problems. My buddy almost died from the vapors.
