"Vice Grip Garage" Wipe on Clear Coat Patina Project Mercury Meteor

We used the Vice Grip Garage's Gloss wipe on patina preserver on the 1961 Mercury Meteor project.

Beautiful job. Just found out about these wipe on clear coat products after dreaming about it for years. Spraying clear coat out of a can is messy with orange peel results. This wipe on stuff is awesome

I was skeptical at first also but after I tried it, I was very happy with the results. Now to check it after a year or so and see how it holds up.

Good afternoon, I just recently purchased some of the shine juice and for some reason it doesn't want to dry for me, am I not doing something right? Was wondering if you had any clue to what might be making it not dry, I really appreciate any of your input. Thanks, Ron Thomas

It requires a mixture of the shine juice and hardener. Double check your instructions. You will get bud.

@@dadbodsandhotrodsgarage It’s a ‘92 S-10. I lowered it, put chrome IROC wheels on it and painted it satin black about 6 years ago. It’s starting to fade a little so I was thinking maybe this clear might make it look decent. It’s just a parts hauler so it doesn’t need to look perfect.

Yes it is called patina protection. Keeping the car as original as possible. Including the rust. It’s a big trend now and I really like it for this car. Not so much for my 1953 belair or my 2001 corvette but it works well on this old mercury.
