When Shane Smith sold, it was a truly sad day. That was literally the best news show available in their prime, I watched nearly everything they put out. Their investigative journalists and in the field reporting was unmatchable, and still has not been matched to this day.

Honestly, they deserve it. They never paid Hamilton his fair share. There are probably countless journalist who risked a lot to give vice award winning real world documentaries and reports, just to get pennies on the dollar from Vice, and instead they ended up using more resources to become a cheap buzzfeed knock off. The video you're commenting on does a good job of explaining the situation. ;) I mean, listen -- there are probably millions of people obsessed with 'woke' identity politics, which means there's hypothetically a market for that stuff. "White Fragility" and similar books proved you can make money in the "woke" space. So no, the catchphrase "go woke, go broke" does not explain the situation. It is, *at best*, a hyper-simplification.

Vice News "Russian Roulette" was a amazing series highlighting the nuances of why the Russo-Ukranian war broke out. I'd also recommend "Winter on Fire" for a Pro EU perspective and "Ukraine on Fire" for Russian perspective on the same events from opposing vantage points. Its important to understand all sides perspective regardless of our individual views on it. I'm a American veteran. We were lied to about Iraq. For the friends I lost from these wars. Being informed on these things so it doesnt happen again is how I honor them.
