The women don't even have to be Republican. Stay At Home Mothers are a target as well. Multiple "feminist icons" including Simone de Beauvoir have argued that it should be illegal for women to be Stay At Home Moms because "if women were given the option, too many many would choose that one". I mean... To me, that sounds like an admission that they don't actually have the women's best interests or desires at heart. They only want conformity to their ideology. But, hey, I'm a man and not a feminist. I don't understand their ideas like how showing your body to countless strangers who don't care about you for a few bucks a month resulting in depression, anxiety, and more is "empowering" but only letting their husband see it after he has been working all day to provide for her so she doesn't have to because he cares so much for her and their kids is "oppression". I am a stay-at-home mom. I've been doing it for over 13 years. We made the decision for me to do that mutually. I get a lot of negative comments about being in a traditional role because everyone feels nowadays that I shouldn't be. I have a PhD and I am highly educated and had a wonderful career prior to becoming a mom. I never have regretted my decision and I enjoy being in the role that I am. I wish more people would take the opportunity to understand or ask why someone might be in a traditional role and to also stop making us feel bad when we choose to do so.

Thank you for your comment, as a man I mentioned before that if I hopefully get in a career that pays well, I would prefer my wife to be a stay at home mom (for her sake and for the whole family's sake) , and I also mentioned that I'd like to marry a smart educated woman and people keeps telling me that those 2 things are contradictory. They say what woman would get a degree if she won't use it, as if education doesn't have value other than allowing someone to sell their life for an office job. That's a good point. It's quite hateful how often leftist media resort to classifying anything that doesn't outright agree with them as extreme - or far-right. As Bret says, they _are_ the system, and they use their power to dominate the narrative and diminish any form of critical dialogue, as opposed to engaging in healthy, constructive debate. It's always a bunch of leftist people around a table berating conservative straw-men. I have no other words than "despicable" for a movement that claims they are the voice of tolerance and justice, while being deaf to criticism that many are so selective about the application of those principles, that they really ought not to be called justice and tolerance at all. Of course, the left isn't a monolith, and there are good things done there as well. But the not so good parts are lifting along with that movement as supposedly logical extensions, while being corrupted versions of sound principles in practice.

I've seen people complain about the consistent presence of trad wives at school board meetings. Basically, generalizing them as narrow-minded women with only one goal to shove their beliefs down "normal" people's (no joke, they literally call themselves the normal ones in these criticisms) throats at the meetings. But in reality, these are just devoted mothers who want to be involved in their kid's lives, and that includes the institutions they spend most of their time at.

You probably can't avoid buying things made in China but people may not realize that Chinese sellers have inundated Amazon, putting small business retailers in the USA out of business. I am a stay at home mom of 5. I chose to stay home and absolutely love it. My older sister is a Nurse Practitioner and her husband owns his own business. They home school their boys. My younger sister is a retail saleswoman who has been with her girlfriend for over 5 years, becoming a reliable parent to her girlfriend’s children. Dude being a trad wife is a fulfilling job. I feel like, as a single mom of two.. the nuclear family is extremely important and if I had the choice to give that to my children, I absolutely would. But, given that I do not have that opportunity, it does not discredit the fact that children should be raised with a mother and a father. I have never heard “trad” before. I guess this is another label that I’m just going to own. I wasn’t “MAGA” until Biden decided that I am 😂. I’m so threatening; I stay home with my kids and stay home while they are at school so I can pick them up if they get sick at school and try to keep my house hospitable to my family. I raise my kids to be happy, kind, friendly individuals. I used to think a career would make me more happy because raising young children is very difficult and under appreciated. But honestly, I feel that this is very meaningful and long-lasting reward. My grandpa put it this way “Men work and make things that are temporary; women have children and help make someone that is eternal.”

Correct. I became a "trad wife" when my second son was born in 2001. Back then, we were called SAHM mothers. It wasn't a movement, I loved my sons and missed them. I wanted high quality child care, I was the most qualified women I met to raise my kids, so I did. If it was a statement, it was a statement of love and compassion for the unique needs of infants and toddlers.
