Please note : this video is really outdated. Nearly all the people highlighted in this video are out of the picture and lyari neighbourhood was literally cleansed of Mafia. Crime has halved since 2013 and now lyari is a fairly mundane, albeit poor neighbourhood. Karachi as a whole is developing really fast. Pakistan itself is also pretty mundane, with normal people going about their lives.

I have had conversations and sat with people from all over the Middle East.. its hard to grasp what's happening there because outside of the fighting they are all decent, friendly, generous people.. the resentments run so deep and before it can get better more fighting breaks out building new resentments. its hard to picture it ever going away completely

the reason that you think that resentment is so deep is that they (we) have become part of a world which is not controlled by direct colonization but a system of control so tuned that each government is rigged to the roots and in the end either you enemy of the state or in government and if you are in government it means that you are friendly to the people who sign contract and give oil away to west....i know it really simplistic explanation but if you see all things going on in a wide horizon with historical context you will be amazed how much negative impact US and UK has on current situations around the world...but why the fighting is fierce in Muslim world, two reason first it is not as fierce as its portrayed but because there are a lot western interests in the region its covered much more than africa or other parts of the world and the second reason is that Muslims are not like west african or chinese but just like europeans in their mentality and identity, they price they pride more than life (if you have studied european history you will get it.)
