Someone I used to know was a police officer in Russia for 5 years before quitting due to threats from his higher ups and then he got into IT and eventually moved out West to work here in IT. He said everyone at the police stations were involved in the corruption schemes and you had to collect certain $$ every day in bribes and get a portion to all the higher ups. If you resisted, you were either fired, killed. Traffic cops wouldn't even give tickets, they would right away ask for money. For any drug busts,etc, they had to steal all the money then share the profits where they'd keep a small portion with the most going to those above. I am pretty sure it's the same in many other countries. greed doesn't discriminate and has no language barriers.

Quite wrong. I'm a European living in SA for years and I thought the same in the beginning since it's something I. wasn't used to but that's not the case. Over 90% of the major crime occurs in very poor areas, gang neighbourhoods, townships, etc. and doesn't affect central places, middle class and upper areas. Yes you need security to stop car break-in, pickpocketing, etc. kind of petty crimes but murder kind of things occur incredibly rare in mainstream places. So, as a tourist or someone who is in the middle class, upper middle class or rich, there is really a very slim chance that anything will happen to you in SA. In fact, it's not very different than any other country. You just need to know what to avoid, where not to go, be vigilant, etc. The crime in SA is 100% real but not represented correctly on the Western media. It's not like every South African faces these stuff every day.

Being 13 isn’t an insult, however on the bell curve of humanity there’s a low probability you have accomplished anything at your old age. No need for insults though. You may report wrongdoing and not know the person actually didn’t do any wrong for example you could report someone always driving luxurious cars and getting delivering at night as a drug dealer while he actually works remotely and just gets a lot of good delivery. Recognize that we as Americans have a constitution that protects our basic rights and that those who are out to strip us of said rights will skew their narratives to better fit their agenda. Majority of gun crimes in America are performed with illegal firearms, wether they violate already existing laws or were obtained illegally, yet they pretend that the people using these firearms walked into a gun store and walked out with it the same day.
