I think the most special child is the one who simply has no need to be special. Because they are so loved, so protected and seen, they can dare to just exist, and have their own immediate experiences and relationships without intense overlays. I don’t know about “Indigo” anything. I know that after a very difficult childhood (many abuses) and especially after being shot two times, flat lining, being brought back and the experience I had...something changed in me. Change in that I could “read” people much more and accurately. I could “heal” others of pain through meditation and a hands on approach, no not that hands on! Lol...I had the ability to see not just others (see the things they have never shared, or would never want others to know) but places I’d never visited. I later found out this is called remote viewing. I could/can often see places that I’ve never been to, it could be on a “wider range” or as particular as the layout of a persons home, the where a-bouts of everything within the house for instance. (Non of these are absolute all the time nor am I able to just “call upon these things at will” all the time). Over time I have had too many “successes” to chalk these things up to luck. I’ve been “tested” by others who were rightfully cynical. One such example, being asked to do a reading on a person I’ve never met...no holds barred, “just write what you see”...and I did. These people were no longer cynical. There’s much more to these things but my point is...our abilities to help others, to see people and places from afar and more are not “special” but IMO more common among all people, just not believed & hence not developed. As for using tuning forks, stones, minerals, candles, etc...meh. If I can help someone who wants help I will do my best. I never charge money and that’s important because it’s not about money, it’s about sharing something that we all possess & hopefully in doing so, some closure or relief is gained by that person. I laughed when the aura paining women was talking about her daughter and how sugar water helped. Of course her daughter was diagnosed with ADD/ADHD which would mean that much like the medications given to children with such diagnosis sugar being a stimulant would likely calm her down aka the opposite effect. I know this because both my sons were diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. Ultimately in the end, these actions are not curtailed to a small segment of the population but are apart of all of us. To really boil it down...have you ever had what we call a “gut feeling” though you had no proof? And were right about that feeling. That’s pretty much the same thing, it’s more a matter of belief and doing. In this video I saw more affluent, over protective mothers touting their children as being “special” in way that deviates from the “norm” and again in my opinion...I call bs. Are paranormal abilities real...absolutely! Are these abilities solely or remotely subject to upper class kids and their 60’s generation parents who cling to that dogma along with their 401K’s and trust funds...absolutely not.

This is disturbing. As a kid I too was told I was “differently special” because of the wild (and incredibly dark) stuff that would pop up in my mind. Some people called it indigo, some gifted, but the punch line is I am now 30 with no good job or reliable income due to severe mental illness. That’s because I was suicidally depressed as a CHILD and those mental illnesses that caused me to have trouble as a kid, left untreated for a few decades, absolutely destroyed my life. I am on medication and go to therapy religiously and I can say proudly that my life is beginning to improve. I will always regret the decisions of my family not to help me with what really needed to be addressed, though.

K. Gen H Psychology is a really new field of research and I think it’s unwise to assume that doctors have the answers to life wrapped up in text books and compressed chemicals. Although I think they’ve made significant progress in the field, pills are not a magical cure for such complex issues such as depression. Being told your special could have negative affects on your life, but I would argue that being told you are insignificant like everybody else is more detrimental. As I said, I think there has been significant progress made in the field and I want nothing more than it to continue as it has helped countless people. But the argument being made that puts doctors in a position of the perfect healers is wrong and sheep-like. Too many people are guinea pigs to pharmaceuticals when all they really need is good people around them for a breath of fresh air. The roses don’t always smell nice but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop using my nose. Use your consciousness in that same way. Yeah, you’re depressed but that’s not an excuse to augment your brain with man made chemicals. You are the master of your destiny and all the tools you will ever need are within yourself.

My mom also used to tell me she thought I was an indigo or diamond child. Her mother was very spiritual and so is she. She was never pushy about it though, she would just mention it every now and then. Of course it made me feel special and it definitely made me feel better about not fitting in. She was never one to deny science though. Maybe question it sometimes but not fully deny it. She was completely supportive of me getting tested for ADHD and ASD and didn't have a problem accepting the positive diagnoses. I honestly think adults who are still obsessed with this idea of being "special" just need to grow up. No one is special. We're all different from each other. Some of us are more obviously different which usually makes life harder so it's more of a disadvantage that we must first accept in order to then learn how to work around it.

I love my creativity and unconventionality but daily tasks are really difficult and I feel like I am peddling backwards. Also with regards to spirituality I have a hard time with any ideas of hierarchy as my spirituality is about looking for commonality, what connects us; not what makes us seperate, labels like 'Indigo' 'empath' sit awkwardly with me because humans are inherently capable of being gifted and empathetic, that's one of the riches of being human and while not everyone will be so I think most people are good and have been throughout history, it seems somewhat self absorbed to think of ourselves now as being more special or more exalted beings than our peers or our ancestors.

Modern spiritualism has that kinda built in, that's what's so appealing about it. People who feel helpless suddenly have "powers", or are "light healers", and can feel special while also framing it as humility and being "open to the mysteries" which again implies emotional and psychological superiority. It's a slippery slope, just like any belief system, where going too far can bring you from wisdom to insanity very quickly and easily.

Yes their might be a few kids who are extremely "intelligent" in certain fields because the wires has been crossed a different way that the average human, and their brain works better in those fields but worse in other fields,but that doesn't mean that people who have trouble learning are intelligent. There is an in balance. "healthy" humans have a relatively equal balance of all these fields.

My family called me an indigo child, but they trafficked and abused us growing up and what they praised as "special" in me was just trauma responses and social developmental issues expressed due to the CSA. I think calling me an indigo child was a way for my family to cover their tracks and dismiss concerns about my behaviours that could be indicative of the abuse. They called me a prophet, a healer, and all sorts of wacky psudeo-occult and psudeo-christian terms that could be neither proven nor disproven. One thing about using a term like prophet or indigo to reference a child is that its a great way to muddy the waters for anyone who might be concerned for the child's welfare. People would just dismiss us as a weird hippy Christian family and would back away instead of leaning in to ask more questions.

It's also important to remember that ADHD is very under-diagnosed in Girls, Adults, and people with a lack of healthcare. The focus on ADHD tends to be on hyperactive young boys, but a lot of people get left behind. Medication might not be feasible for everyone with ADHD, however a lack of structural and emotional support can be detrimental. In a society that still doesn't really understand ADHD, it can be tempting to believe that we are just eccentric and special in some spiritual way, but that can lead to a lack of support. Neurodivergence is possible to live and thrive with, society just needs to be able to accommodate people who aren't neurotypical.

Being 26 now finishing up school for being an engineer, watching this video made me happy as hell that I never became as "enlightened" as some of the people on this video. However, I will say I'm glad I didn't end up on stimulants as a child either, as I've seen much clearer cases of ADD and ADHD in adults today and I feel what little I might have had when I was young was curtailed in other manners.

To me, this whole Indigo thing gives actual spirituality a bad name and takes away the focus of what true spirituality is. Most people are now focused on being psychic and attuned in energy but it's so much more than that! It is so forced nowadays. I believe everyone has a third eye, the ability to see past earthly attachments, and to be intuitive but lots of people just aren't yet in tune with it. To me, it's all about learning about yourself and this universe and how it all flows and connects. Its all about letting go (especially of the ego) and letting life flow. Not building up your ego because you think you're more aware than another person. That is, I believe, what spirituality and Indigoism is truly about but people have just turned it into another trend :(
@AshleyNeshea8 жыл бұрын
I completely agree with you. I believe EVERYONE has the ability to open their "third eye" this is all fairly new to me but from my understanding i feel like we are all here together in this space and there is often speak of different frequencies some vibrate high and some not so much BUT if we all occupy the same space then what is stopping one from being able to vibrate higher other than their own choice not to. I don't see it as 1 person being better than another just some deciding to embark on a different or new journey to find themselves. Which is why i myself am digging deeper into the subject. Lately ive been experiencing an overwhelming feeling of 'THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE" this may or may not be it but it never hurts to expand and be well versed in a subject.

Mike Mancuso I’m studying to be a clinical psychologist right now, so I don’t exactly have the qualifications for what I’m about to say, but I’m still gonna put it out there. You were on the wrong medication for you. I’m willing to guess it was Ritalin that made you like that because it did the same thing to my brother. Your doctor should’ve switched you to a different medication if those were the side effects you were having. But the meds didn’t cause your bulimia. That’s not how that works. Temporary appetite suppression during the day doesn’t create an eating disorder. Depression and anxiety that are left untreated coupled with either a feeling of not having enough control over your life and/or environmental pressures to look a certain way lead to eating disorders. I really hope you’re getting the help that you need with the issues you’re currently having.

I know everyone is talking about ADHD in the comments, but *synesthesia* is another possibility for seeing "auras." For example I would associate colours, genders and personalities with letters, numbers, shapes, symbols etc when I was a kid I used to complain to my friends that their name doesn't seem to match their gender (too many masculine letters in the name for someone who is feminine) and they had no idea what I was talking about. Ask any group of people who have these "crossed wires" they won't agree on their perceptual associations. It can get really distracting when you're trying to solve math problems while you perceive personalities on the page, but I still sat my butt down and did my homework.

I am both autistic and consider myself to be a spiritual person, but I will never identify as an indigo adult, Earth Angel, Starseed or any of these other holier-than-thou new age labels. 1. First of all it's not healthy spirituality. It's a form of "Spiritual Narcissism" where you justify loving yourself and come to believe that you're the center of the universe, to the point where you start to give your own ego a creation myth. Healthy spirituality is about swallowing your ego/pride, trying to become a better person and recognizing that it's not all about you. These new-age labels teach you not to change yourself but instead demand that the world changes around you, because you're better than everyone else by birth. Thus you're entitled to be treated as a holy special magical person, even though you aren't actually doing anything to help the world around you or better yourself. 2. As an autistic person I have struggled with my limitations, but through out my whole life I've been fighting tooth and nail to try to overcome them. I've been fighting to prove that I am capable of doing more. What always has grinded my nerves where people who would treat me like I was made of glass, which did more damage to my life. I understand that some parents might teach their kids this in hopes that it would make them feel better, but I agree that it's more damaging. you're essentially giving your kid a blue ribbon and setting themselves up for greater disappointment when they enter the adult world and learn that they weren't destined from birth to be great, but instead find they don't have the skills to survive that they could have been learning instead of Crystal healing. Plus you're grooming autistic people from a very young age to become more vulnerable to prey to dangerous cults. I don't need to identify as an indigo or any other wacky label to prove my self-worth, and I am certainly not holier than anyone else. EDIT: I just like to clear up that I'm also critical of the overuse of prescription drugs. I think it's okay to use those in some circumstances but I agree that some doctors are too quick to put children on pills when they might not really need them. I'm also a little open to some forms of holistic healing but not to the point where it becomes a full-time replacement for medical treatment, especially in more severe cases. EDIT AGAIN: To the people accusing me of being holier-the-thou, I'm not, I'm respponding to peoples claims about autism and Indigo children. As an Autistic person I have a right to be concern what people in my community are being taught and how its effecting them. I never delared myself to be more special then anyone, but if your claiming to be an indigo whose job it is to raise our "vibrations" or "teach us" wisdom, you are by default claiming to be better then the rest of us. You think its your duty to change us as if your a spiritual colonialist who looks down on us lowly people. Some of you are claiming thst you are helping by "raising our vibrations". To that I say, your not helping anyone, all your doing is giving yourself a pat on the back and "telling" yourself your helping. It as helpful as just hitting the "like" button on a Facebook page or only typing "thoughts and prayers" when tragedy happens. All it dose is fill your own ego. I'm sorry, but its the blunt truth. If you really want to help make the world a better place, then get off the computer and get involved in your community. Try volunteering for a good causes, donate things you don't need anymore to goodwill or just be nice to the people in your life. Instead of just meditating or praying for your family, freinds or even strangers who are in need why dont you try reaching out to them and do something really nice for them? You don't need a supernatural orgin story to be kind to other people.

I think that if you are spiritually minded it is not something you announce it's something you do, it is slight and invisible and is like breathing or walking, most of the time you don't know you've done anything until someone tells you years later, you are just happy to be, except for extreme desires to plug in to people on a deeper level any people, but not seek people out, needing to be alone alot because you don't understand anger, inpatients the inability to smile complaining, gossip, and how overwhelming it is to suddenly feel super protective over a stranger that you can't go and talk to without feeling like a nutter, or having strangers pour their heart out to you when you have had a crappy day, and also these things don't go away with ADHD medications, it just means you can focus on what you can control, and if humans look deep inside this is every human 💞🌼🌼🌺🏵️🌻.

Arlindo Barbosa De Oliviera was a witchdoctor. At age three, a spirit manifested in him called "Dr. Rubenstein". The spirit said it resided in a German doctor in its former life, when the doctor died, the spirit moved into Arlindo. That's why Arlindo was able to write prescriptions in Latin at the age of 3 (three). Was Arlindo an indigo child? No, he was possessed by a demon. All the wisdom and memories of the former victim was transferred to Arlindo by the demon spirit. Why? Because Arlindo's mother was a macumba spiritist, she dedicated Arlindo to Satan while he was still in her womb. This is why children who exhibit psychic abilities are children with a family history of dabbling in the occult. It's called "generational witchcraft". Demons travel through unsaved wicked bloodlines. I used to be in the New Age movement. I made orgone domes with quartz crystals, copper coils and minerals like fools gold and I would encase them in polymer resin in an effort to produce harmony. I meditated on a golden beam of light with my hand on my solar plexus (naval), I practiced mind-over-matter techniques like telekinesis (occult), I became a vegetarian because I didn't want to lower my vibrations, I believed in Carl Yung's idea of becoming one with yourself, I believed that after many cycles of reincarnation I would ascend into "homo noeticus" (God status), and I listened to demon possessed channelers like Blossum Goodchild who said the ascended masters were going to show up on October 14th 2008 to show the world that all religion is man-made. They never showed up and Blossom goodchild still has her apology on youtube. She said these highly enlightened "spirit guides" told her to pump out this message for like 10 months and they proved to be nothing but lying demons. The New Age is basically Hinduism and Witchcraft repackaged. It started with satanist/Luciferian Madam Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. There is a photograph of her sitting in a chair with Ascended masters Kuthumi, St. Germaine, and El Morya. These are the same high level demons that are being contacted today in the New Age, here's a video to prove the New Age is a big fat lie, and the one feeding you this lie is Lucifer the false "light bearer": m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5q0ioeEa7ZlpJI “No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a LUCIFERIAN Initiation.” - David Spangler Director of Planetary Initiative United Nations No amount of "collective consciousness, love and light" nonsense is going to change the outcome foretold in the Bible, nor the fact that there is a hell. It's not often what parents see in their kids though. Often biased. It's what others often point out that make a parent pay attention(sometimes). Including doctors etc. AdHD kids just need to be taught differently. Not that they automatically are indigo or starseed. Super empathic/sensitive/intuitive children often get told by others they are "cry babies" or whatever. I've dealt with one for over 19 years now. It's interesting. They shouldn't be put on a pedestal to think they are better then everyone...but you do have to help them learn things differently and why other people can be mean/rude etc.

A great book about ADHD is "A hunter in a farmers world". It makes perfect sense that people who are genetically hunter gatherers would have difficulty in a farmer, industrial society. Asking a child with ADHD to sit down and pay attention for any length of time is like asking them to fly. ADD on the other hand is more like being driven to distraction. Many are highly sensitive people or people whom I refer to as gentle spirits. They do feel the energy around them and can easily become introverted and/or suffer from social anxiety disorder. Too much going on for both a person with ADHD and ADD.

I feel like we shouldn't use the term "Indigo" becomes it forms another illusion of separation between us. We are all indigos, we all have incredible power we can tap into. We all have the ability to tap into extra sensory perception. It's great to work with the chakras or primary energy centers because it can help heal us, sometimes we have energy blockages that prevent the energy from flowing upwards, working with the chakras can help balance ourselves on all planes. This documentary kind of pokes fun at new age beliefs but deep down it's a movement of bringing us all together & finding ourselves within. We all hold so much power but many of us only tune into the physical aspect of ourselves. The universe is all energy, vibration & frequency, we must think of it like this to reach these higher levels of consciousness. Don't look down upon these people for believing in this stuff you may actually enjoy it once you try it :) much love & light.

+Jake Rench I agree with you entirely. All labels ultimately divide in one shape or form. I have been in this type of practice for some years. at first it was just meditating and feeling all these new sensations just from simply quieting my mind and letting go of the wheel. funny thing is life is a lot better at sorting out life than you are. i wasnt born with any special intuition really. but luckily i found great knowledge and dedicated myself to self discovery. I wont get all esoteric and talk about chakras and crystals and shit. People get so wrapped up in those terms and just ignore spirituality entirely cause they think its ridiculous. i guess getting to my point is, anyone can do it. No ones special. Everyone has the ability to evolve their consciousness. its not about religion. or following the right guru. its about transcending your boundaries and exploring this vast, mysterious, and vibrant thing we call life.

Vibration, energy and frequency are words to describe material things. Particles vibrate because they have energy and these vibrations in turn have a frequency. You're using scientific terms in an absolutely meaningless way. Just because something sounds nice and appeasing doesn't make it true. I remember asking my daughter how she got along with her friends little brother. I was curious if they all played together being that he is a few years younger. She went on and on about the things he does and says and that they include him in everything. But I was really surprised how she was describing him. From what she was saying about him I was intrigued. He's 4 and has a special way about him. This has nothing to do with Indigo kids or psychic abilities but my reaction was to ask if he was autistic. I have noticed that not many people talk about how smart and special children with autism Asperger's etc are. Maybe I don't come across too many smart kids lately believe me they have really dumb down, but anyone recognize how smart kids with "learning disabilities" are? I also believe it's the parenting and how much communication and interaction there is.
@bmmaaate2 жыл бұрын
You may be right. In this insane world we live in it would be perfectly normal to say that intelligent kids have learning disabilities if they won't learn all the useless garbage they try to teach them. I remember being able to do sums in my head. The teachers said I was cheating. After being forced to write out long division and failing they took this as proof of my cheating. Then I started to doubt my ability to do the sums and now I am bad at maths.

Interview adults that were forced to take ADHD medication as children. I believed that perspective is important here.
@aprilheivilin75843 жыл бұрын
Interview ANYONE that was forced to take ANY medication as a child and you will probably hear negative things because a) kids don't like taking medicine b) kids don't like to be nagged, cajoled, or bribed to take medication and the definitely don't like to be disciplined when they don't take their medications. Shaming or punishing kids who struggle in school with learning or behavior issues is so damaging. But making a link between a child being forced to take medication and whether the child has a medical need for it is not a logical statement; it does show that parents have a responsibility to listen to their children, advocate and educate teachers and anyone else who is ignorant or rude or caused bad feelings about ADD or being medicated. My dad was the first patient in our state who had polio. His family put him a shed in the back of the house and he was isolated until he had no fever and could travel to a hospital. The hospital put him in a full body cast for months at a time which caused the muscles in his arms and legs to shrink and die, which led to him becoming disabled. He definitely didn't like the medical treatment for polio. I would say it was probably traumatizing. But his parents had to do their best in getting him help. And even though he got some of the wrong help didn't mean he didn't have polio. Parents should not force their children to take medication without listening to their child's feelings about how the medication is affecting them- they should empower them by teaching them how their bodies work and how the medication helps them be healthy. People with ADD are generally more intelligent, sensitive and creative than people without. ADD medications should be a positive help, and can lead to happier, healthier lives. They should never make people feel weird, "less themselves", or give any other side effects. Those symptoms mean the medication is either too high a dose or the wrong type of stimulant medication. There are many more choices of stimulant medications than there were 20 years ago. They have a strong record of safety when used correctly, they protect the brain over time from dementia, and protect against the poor self esteem that often comes with repeated criticism or perceived failures. Studies show that people with ADD who take stimulant medication are much less likely to self-medicate with marijuana or narcotics, are more successful as adults (in however they define that). My point in writing this is that we parents of ADD children have even more of a responsibility to be educated with accurate information so we can empower our children toward a happy, healthy life. It might not be an easy road, but being a parent isn't an easy job. It's a good job.

Actually the sugar thing might work, tho only a tiny bit. ADHD brains really work differently on drugs, and in the end sugar is a drug too. Tho it would really really depend on how severe the ADHD is. Cause really hard cases won't work with sugar. Also ADHD should never go untreated or unknown. not knowing you have ADHD and not knowing you're simply different is the shittiest feeling ever, I can tell ya.
@SilvaDreams7 жыл бұрын
While you are correct that ADHD causes different drug reactions (or even basic biochemical reactions) treating ADHD is better not drugging them so much as teaching the child how to deal with it. I have ADHD, was diagnosed as a teen in the early 90's and was given drugs. They worked briefly till they were having to constantly up the doses till they were hitting toxic level. My mother told them to simple pull back the doses and just take me off. After that she merely took the time to just help me focus in ways that worked for me. Now at 34 I still have occasional issues with wandering attention but now I can click it on and off, I am either a bit here there and everywhere or.. Completely locked in on my task and my boss actually loves me because I can get so much done where as others simply prefer to sit back and be lazy.

I was professionally diagnosed in my 40's and tried Adderall and a couple other meds but found they made me ANGRY to the point of Snapping and and being on the edge as I was coming off by later afternoon. It was better for me to manage the inattentiveness with mindfulness that it was to manage the effects of the anger and irritability.

I wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until I became an adult but to me this just sounds like all these people have ADHD lmao. The “indigo child” label describes me perfectly. I did poorly in school (except the classes I really liked like art and English and science) despite being smart, I was way ahead of my peers in terms of art skills and drew obsessively and made whole imaginary worlds and stories in my head, I had a hard time keeping friends until I was in the 6th grade when I finally made one real lifelong friend who also has ADHD, and I’ve always been told I’m unique and different and sagacious and wise, etc. TBH I think I suffered a lot more than I benefited by not having a diagnosis. Being treated sooner for ADHD probably would have saved me from becoming severely depressed and suicidal by the time I was 12 because of how alone I felt, as well as struggling with parents with undiagnosed ADHD who are alcoholics, as addiction is extremely common in people with ADHD.
@ravenestrella23103 жыл бұрын
I have ADHD, too. That’s exactly what all of this is! In fact, I’ve told people before that I have ADHD, and without missing a beat they’ve responded by going “oh, so you’re an indigo child.” Haha! Usually I just roll my eyes, and laugh! There are even websites dedicated to so-called indigo children that talk about how terrible it is that indigo children are being medicated (for ADHD), and how terrible it is that society is seeing us as having some sort of disorder, when really, according to them, we’re these ultra enlightened beings here to save humanity! So, yeah! Basically, you’re spot on! These are all people with ADHD (along with some folks who don’t have it, but think they’re “indigo children anyway), who just haven’t come too terms with the fact that they have ADHD! 🤣
