Suresh Kalmadi has a very long history of corruption. Man, the corruption of the Commonwealth games doesn't compare to the one that was conducted during the Commonwealth Youth Games. The kickbacks were enormous, land grabs by Kalmadi's goons were pretty common, all that land grab cases are yet to contested in courts. Kalmadi, is also a Gandhi family sycophant and was close the Gandhis. He orchestrated Sonia's ascension as Party President and later did the same for Rahul. He damaged Congress and the Gandhi family's reputation with his corruption with Sports in India.

FYI Well this scam changed the government in 2014 general election. And the government that lost was Indian National Congress that was the same party who's ministers actually made the constitution of India in 1950 after the religion Islamic partition from democracy in 1947 independence and was the first political party which was founded by a British person named A O Hume during colonialism.

That's a major misunderstanding. Pre 1947 Congress party had everyone working for independence. But post 1947 had a split. Gandhiji was right in saying INC should be broken up after its goal independence is achieved. The Nehru family single-handedly used all achievement pre 1947 to its credit. People's first mistake in trusting them . Pre 47 and post 47 INC are both different sir...it's a pity Indians still haven't understood it.

The former cbi chief has said this has reduced the no of cases registered by the cbi upto 40%. This clearly indicates that bjp doesnt let cbi register cases against its MPs and people close to bjp which was not done by the congress. The media is always preaching good stuff about the bjp and wrong about congress but noone is talking about real issue like unemployment, inflation etc. U might be watching those news channels and thinking bjp will save ur hindutva which I can assure u is NOT under any threat. Another incident of ED and EC registering cases against both bjp and congress for receiving party funds from abroad. In 1976 Indira gandhi banned the party funding coming from abroad. But in 2016 when this case was filled in supreme court both congress and bjp made an alliance and removed that law that banned political parties from receiving funds from abroad. 1000 times thanks for covering this, I was in my teens when this happened. I was very proud that India got to host commonwealth games that time and was really hoping Indian athletes would put a tough fight against the Australian players as at that time we couldn't beat them in cricket. India ended scoring more medals than Australia, not because our athletes fought hard but the Ausies boycotted the games due to poor hygiene in the quarters. Top it off with the bridge collapse, incomplete stadium and zero remorse of Suresh Kalmadi. Man I will never forgive congress for this shameful exhibit, no one should!

I was a student then when this corruption happened. Such a long time, still case is pending. Typical of Indian judiciary. And this was one of the biggest reasons for the GREAT FALL of Congress, which I don't think Congress will be able to recover even in the next 10 years. But the ruling govt also has its issues. Why can't we have govt. which focuses SOLELY on development ? People are deprived of options, since only 2 dominant parties exist right now. Irrespective of the political ideologies, I strongly feel that AAP party should strengthen its national base like it is doing slowly and steady and emerge as a dominant player in the coming decade.

Bruh the previous government was a coalition government. The UPA was made of many many small parties, if any 2 parties would withdraw their support then the entire government would collapse therefore the Supreme Court and Independent Agencies like CBI, ED knew about this and they were challenging the authority of the government each and every day during the rule of UPA since 2009. Even Indian Army defied the orders of the central government by moving 3 regiments of Indian Army from Rajasthan towards Raisina Hill Delhi, which is a crime and sedition under Army laws of our nation.

Corruption is so ingrained in India's DNA that I pity everyone in the country. The country has so much potential but governments over there do not want to push the final barriers. Just have a look at the covid deaths figures provided by the indian gov and you will understand that their figures are simply provided to look good. I guess I want a world where first world countries stop taking India for a backroom workforce population where cheap labour is exploited. The government in India cannot ensure that their population are not exploited because that is a main attraction of foreign investment in India. You are informing me that India has 6% poverty, I assure you that no one who has an interest in global politics will believe this figure. Poverty % is well above the 6% mentioned. When the time comes where Indians see the standard of living of other first world countries they will understand how disasvantaged they are and how much of a good life they are missing.

And yes, they save money simply because money is hard to get. All you have to do is ask any students if they would leave the country for a better future and I can guarantee at least 60% will say yes. This is because they know how bad their situation is, they do not want to be exploited by multinationals. India's gov should help under priviledged people by giving them more basic needs and a way out of poverty. People do not have a choice other than to live a simple life. A majority wishes they could travel internally, visit other cultures and enjoy life. Unfortunately no one chooses to be born in a country which is leaving the poor behind. But such is their lives.
