I had a '74 Monte Carlo. Looked just like that one. Mine was a brown metallic with a 350 in it. The only real problem I had with it was the transmission went out. I got one from a junk yard for $150, a guy put it in for $150 and it ran like new then. Great car. I drove it to Denver, then went over the continental divide but not through the Eisenhower tunnel, instead I drove the old hwy 6 that goes over the top of the mountains. I passed a sign that said 13,000 feet and kept going up some before it started back down. That Chevy 350 seemed to have as much power up there as it did at sea level. Great engine. It was a little harder to start at high altitude but once running very little difference.

Derek is the “Car Whisperer”. Never seen a guy so good with cars! Amazing how he can take any old POS that’s sat in a field for 20 years and get it running again! Fascinating guy and funny as hell!

He's the most entertaining car channel, no doubt. His personality is second to none. I was thinking, he's so great and has no haters because he's able to point out every fault in a dry sarcastic way. Most channels you have Haters that constantly point out the flaws but Derek embraces and it is most of his content 😂. This guy is gold.

One of my all time favorite car styles! Had a 77, then a 76 in the late 80s to the mid 90s. Damn but I wish I still had the 76.

i has a 76 Grand prix at one point. Pontiacs version of this. I had a 350 poncho though. was an awesome car, but the northeast winters took their toll and rusted her badly. Still want another one someday, hopefully with the 455.

A friend of my sister came over to the house with a 1974 factory 454 Monte Carlo, factory gauges and tachometer. Real cool. Then another cool car I saw in the early eighties was an insurance guy had a 1972 Impala two door convertible, black interior body color white with factory 454 and 454 emblems on the front fenders, cool and rare.

What an awesome episode. My first car was a 75 'Carlo and this brings back memories. I made it a "war wagon" as I was 16 years old. Ripped off the Landau top, took off the hubcaps, removed the air breather, and proceeded to treat it like General Lee. I think you should keep the ol gal. "War Wagon"!
