Thank you for this beautiful tribute. You don’t understand…Not only was he an icon, one of the best tenors in history and bar none the best Ranchera music singer of all time, but Chente was our culture, our life, our soul, he was Mexico. We all grew up on his music and his passing felt almost as much as when you lose a parent; it feels like a big part of your heart has been ripped out and the hurt that leaves in the heart is beyond what words can explain. My mom, who passed away in 2018 looooved Chente. To lose him just three years after my mom is something that’s going to take a while to get used to. What a loss this is for me, our family, for Mexico and the rest of the world. He was definitely the last of the older talented world of music and cinema in Mexico. Que descanse en paz, Chente. Lo queremos todos. Nos vas a ser falta en persona, pero su legación vivera para siempre. Que diosito disfrute de la bonita voz que El le dió.

R.I.P to the King of Rancheras, man it's so unfortunate that the world lost such a voice and talent. I was never lucky enough to see him in concert but I would have loved that. I may not have agreed with some of the things he said while he was alive, but his music is my childhood. I have so many precious memories with his music because of my mother and grandparents, it's sad to see the end of an era, Mexico has lost too many legends in the past decade

I love that he said he would have spit in trumps face, for the things he said of Mexicans…..”we’re not murders and rapists”. He had more pride than the Mexican-Americans who voted for him in this country. Disgraceful.
