@@mr.savagexoxo9936 here's an old N.Y. Times article on him.. Dressed like a gentleman cowboy, in a yellow suit with gold buttons, a large sombrero and an ornate pistol at his hip, Mr. Fernandez performed with Mariachi Chapala, a modern mariachi band: violins, trumpets, guitars and electric keyboard. The same group backed his son, Alejandro, and the opener, Graciela Beltran, in a nonstop concert that lasted more than three hours. Vicente Fernandez sang with operatic power and melodrama, sometimes pounding his chest as he sang the word corazon (heart). His voice is an ardent tenor; his verses started out husky and restrained, then opened up with prodigious crescendos and a vibrato that could register on the Richter scale. He sang as if holding nothing back, but his timing was skillful; over the mariachi group's nonchalant bounce, phrases would swell, ease back and rise again. Each surge of sentiment became an occasion, flaunting heroic virtuosity in the face of the lyrics' torment.

Just finished El Rey on netflix. Didn't know who he was. Im a white boy in East Tx. Finished the season in 2 days. He lead a very inspiring life. I was curious and decided to u tube some of his work and know why he was so well loved. His voice is so powerful and at the same time graceful. I can't understand any of it but am moved by the tones he produced. It will give u goosebumps. He will always be remembered. Rest in peace 🙏

I watch your BTS reactions, and the last thing I ever expected was for you to listen to Vicente Fernandez. I'm in my 30's and grew up listening to his music. I always have him on my playlists, karaoke would not be the same without VF lol. Even in his old age his voice is still incredibly strong. He definitely spills all his emotions into his music. Any Mexican that's going through heartache/breakup and/or drinking......you better believe they have Vicente "Chente" playing in the background😌😂😂

Musica Ranchera is becoming such an underrated genre in Mexico. It is truly sad. It needs a stronger comeback
@Jr-fc6kf3 жыл бұрын
rancho humilde is the best genre right now
@Chuck-yt7iq3 жыл бұрын
Yes. Its partially due to the fact that it belongs to a particular region (Bajio northwest) therefore it isn't native to all of Mexico. (Colombia has more mariachi bands per capita). When in Mexico I recommend the mariachi Festival in Guadalajara or going to Garibaldi Plaza in Mexico City anytime of the year. Make sure to get tipsy on good tequila. A low priced one would be 7 leguas. Mid priced don julio 70. If you want to splurge get some Reserva de la Familia. Happy travels. No silly mandates in Mexico.

They can react to a video of him singing and all but if you weren't raised with this type of ranchera music as a kid to adulthood you can't really appreciate the significance of this legend's legacy and voice.

His voice and this song ALWAYS brings tears to my eyes. I’ve heard him played in my mother’s home since I was a little girl. To just feel the pain, passion AND hope from behind the words he sings in this song. Ugh! 😩 wonderfully OUT OF THIS WORLD! 🥹
