@@mr.savagexoxo9936 here's an old N.Y. Times article on him.. Dressed like a gentleman cowboy, in a yellow suit with gold buttons, a large sombrero and an ornate pistol at his hip, Mr. Fernandez performed with Mariachi Chapala, a modern mariachi band: violins, trumpets, guitars and electric keyboard. The same group backed his son, Alejandro, and the opener, Graciela Beltran, in a nonstop concert that lasted more than three hours. Vicente Fernandez sang with operatic power and melodrama, sometimes pounding his chest as he sang the word corazon (heart). His voice is an ardent tenor; his verses started out husky and restrained, then opened up with prodigious crescendos and a vibrato that could register on the Richter scale. He sang as if holding nothing back, but his timing was skillful; over the mariachi group's nonchalant bounce, phrases would swell, ease back and rise again. Each surge of sentiment became an occasion, flaunting heroic virtuosity in the face of the lyrics' torment.

He just passed away Dec 12, 2021. Not just Mexico 🇲🇽 but all Latin America are crying. He’s NOT just a singer, he is an icon, music king, but also a GREAT humble human being who even though was one of the top famous people and made a fortune with his hard work was NEVER involved in scandals or any type rumors. Got married to his sweetheart when he was 23 yrs old and remained happily married until his death. This man is an EXTREMELY GOOD example of how famous people should be. And c’mon GREAT, GREAT VOICE EVER but he never, ever was a show off. Generations grew up listening to his music. His music was listened by my Grandpa, my Dad and now new generations. A new angel in heaven! 🙏

Now that I’m almost in my 30’s I think back and see how he wasn’t just a singer he was someone who brought people together, I think back to every weekend when the whole family would come over to my grandparents house for a cookout and everyone would just sing along to his songs word for word at the top of our lungs with just so much emotion and till this day I can’t help but cry when I hear his songs because of the memories that man created.

Just finished El Rey on netflix. Didn't know who he was. Im a white boy in East Tx. Finished the season in 2 days. He lead a very inspiring life. I was curious and decided to u tube some of his work and know why he was so well loved. His voice is so powerful and at the same time graceful. I can't understand any of it but am moved by the tones he produced. It will give u goosebumps. He will always be remembered. Rest in peace 🙏

You can be a pop diva, a punk rocker sticking it to the man, a gangsta rapper or a Met opera singer, BUT when Chente takes off his sombrero and he lets one of those long notes rip, you listen and you are instantly floored by the man’s singing capacity.
