As a beginning drummer I can't overstate how amazed I am at Dr Wooton's ability to keep the stick height down on the ghost notes even at a very high tempo. And with those giant sticks no less. Those are hands/fingers of iron.

I used to own George Lawrence stick control book when I first started taking drum lessons 26 YEARS AGO with my favorite teacher of all times " Mr. Stan Murray". Phenomenal drummer!

The only book available through local music stores is the drummer's rudimental reference book and I'll have to special order it through the store.

I like them flam paradiddles, but is it incorrect to have a little bit of a drag to my flam paradiddles? And if so will I eventually work through it naturally?

I want to get my flam paradittles up to like 120 bpm . Thats like a fast but comfortable speed for regular parradittles for me.

To me the hardest to master are clean singles up to speed. Bouncing anything easy.

Mastering single strokes is not an easy thing. It seems simple and dull but you can differentiate a pro from an aficionado by the way they handle single stokes.

How many bpm should I aim for when practicing paradiddles? I seem to be stuck around 85 before it falls apart.
@mattmarkus48682 жыл бұрын
probably up to 150 should cover you for most stuff. Maybe 160.
