Aaargh, the amount of misinformation in this comment thread! 10mm Auto came first in 1983, it is a 10mm bullet in a 25mm case, it was used by FBI agents, particularly by Hostage Rescue Teams, alongside various 10mm handguns. The FBI quickly discovered that its recoil was excessive for the everyday agent, so they produced "Reduced Load" ammo. After testing, in 1990 they decided to just cut the extra brass from the case to save space in magazines. Here the 10x21.6mm, aka .40 S&W, was born.

I've always been intrigued by the .40 and 10mm variants (anyone read Clancy's Rainbow Six?) and wondered why HK stopped making them. I read a guy on HKpro years ago that had first hand knowledge...I believe he said the .40 and 10 wore the roller parts faster... that the gun was originally designed around 9mm... then they added the other variants later at the request of the Americans. If anyone can verify this, let me know!

@egt22c6 жыл бұрын

@PARR536 жыл бұрын
The SP5k is a semi auto version of the MP5k with the same furniture the original SP89 had back in the 80s when HK could still important those particular weapons here. All you have to is swap out the furniture with and MP5k and install the magazine flap style catch and it looks and functions (less full auto) exactly the same. I even had a threaded MP5k barrel put on it so I can run a can. It’s an awesome weapon and a rapid fire lead slinger. I think I know what you are getting at though. You want to see a full size MP5 in semi auto by HK now that would be super cool. Zenith a company out of Turkey that used HK tooling builds one and its of great quality as far as I’ve read and heard.
@ChrisB.C.6 жыл бұрын
@@PARR53 I thought the BATFE didn't allow the paddle mag release on semi HKs because somehow the roll pin for it allowed full auto trigger packs to be easily installed?
@PARR536 жыл бұрын
cbc82 that is true for the G3/HK91 series as they are configured in the receiver slightly differently. It’s quite easy to install the paddle release and keep the button release. Go to HKparts.net and you’ll see all kinds of parts and accessories that fit on all the SP5k series as well as clones of all their weapons.
