I just loved the show on the Lennon Sisters on Vicki 1994. It brought back very many memories that my face was streaming with tears. I learnt so much about them from the movie mags my family bought during the 1950's, 60's and later. I used to love their Anniversary Waltz and I don't know why and still do. They have changed very little over the years. The years truly have been kind to these wonderful home girls. Thank you dear KZbin for this excellent video and congrats too to the wonderful, down-to-earth Vicki without whom this show would not have been possible. Truly a gem and long live the gorgeous Lennons!!!

I grew up with Lawrence Welk and all those on the show as well as all the Big Bands, Al Jolson, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Liberace, Bob, Hope, etc. I'm glad Lawrence kept the show the way it was and the music. That STILL is all the music I listen to today because music was melody, harmony and sensible rhythm! Rock and roll brought screamers, pig callers and instrument bashers!

I became a huge fan of the Lennon Sisters from watching reruns of the "Welk Show" on PBS television over these past years. This is my favorite lineup (no disrespect to the addition of their equally talented and lovely younger sister, Mimi, following Peggy's initial retirement). Their acapella rendition of "Yesterday" was superb, but the jazzy "Fascinatin' Rhythm" with their daughters knocked it out of the ballpark! May God continue to bless the Lennon family, and may they continue providing that beautiful music we've come to enjoy so much!

At about 5 years old I listened to them hour after hour and then I learned how to sing each part one after one until I perfected each one. Then when when I finally got to sing in a choir,as a high school freshman, I was almost a seasoned professional. I’ve enjoyed singing in many choirs and was able to sing harmony completely by ear. I’ve sung in many choirs and was able to sing backup on several recordings. I’ve loved singing all my life. Sadly, in 2001 I had stage 4 throat and tongue cancer that in 2004 left me without much saliva and eventually by 2020 has left me unable to sing much at all. I miss singing so much because to me it has taken much of the joy out of my life. Oddly, however in 1964 I became one of the first waves of huge Beatles fans. I got to see them live in 1964 and again in ‘65. However, now I am able to listen to all the old Lennon Sisters intermingled with the works of John Lennon and wonder if they weren’t somehow cosmically related. It’s just way too much to if a coincidence. Isn’t it?

I always think it is funny that IMO none of the sisters look like each other at all, but each of their daughters look exactly like them. I think it is sad that even as adults they idolize their father, when he was a controlling stage father, always pushing them to perform anywhere and everywhere they could, no matter what the conditions, and took their money, even bragging about it. It's in their book.

"Wings of Pegasus" who's an expert guitarist in Britain, ANALYZED ALL of the sisters' song (when they were children)in his video quiet well. I wonder if EACH sister had tried to sing a different part than the one each was assigned, if their sound as a quartet might have changed in even a more different way, than they did on their recordings?

11. They had 12 but the youngest, Mary, was hit by a car at age 1. It seems odd that they would have allowed a baby to just be walking around that close to the road, but they did. Kathy went after her but her mother pulled her back lest she be hit too. It sounds all kind of odd, actually. This was all in their book.
