-ㄹ/을 텐데 and -ㄹ/을 테니까 are among the most frequently asked questions I get from intermediate students. Honestly, organizing the usage of -ㄹ/을 테 was a bit of a headache because it wasn't easy to come up with a definitive grammatical explanation for this. That’s why, instead of focusing on what’s absolutely correct from a grammatical perspective, I prioritized how these expressions are actually used in real-life conversations, like what’s more commonly heard in everyday speech. This video reflects the most common and practical usage of these expressions in modern spoken Korean :) So please keep this in mind as you learn! 00:00 Intro 00:24 -ㄹ/을 테 vs. -ㄹ/을 거 02:08 -ㄹ/을 텐데 04:35 Quiz & Speaking Practice 06:32 -ㄹ/을 테니까 09:32 Speaking Practice 10:32 Recap 10:45 Outro

Wow, I love how this is presented-it just clicked the moment I heard it. I’m especially fascinated by how the language encourages critical thinking to evaluate the strength of confidence in a sentence. Even the guidelines for this are intriguing! Honestly, this beats playing a guessing game about whether a noun is a "he," "she," or something in between, like in other languages. ㅋㅋ

Ohh~~!! Thanks a lot! I use '것 같아요' a lot when i kinda guessing? Or when i make assumption. This one seems simillar. Like 10:27 usually i would say '바쁠 것 같아요. 너무 걱정하지 마세요' (they're probably busy. Don't be too worried about it) 3:36 '기다릴 것 같아요' (they must be waiting) or "그렇게 하면 너무 힘든 것 같아요"(if you do it like that, it might be too hard) and they seems to understand it. Ofc, with several context and situation :) Now that i know this grammar point, i can use this one more in the future

Had no idea that 을/를 테 would imply a soft assumption or guess. Then the 거 would apply hard guess or "will" happening.

Hi Vicky 선생님, this both grammar are usually or only use on "I"? e.g. 수잔 씨는 음색을 준비할 테니까 갠디 씨는 커피을 사요. (X) 저는 음색을 준비할 테니까 갠디 씨는 커피을 사요. (O) 감사합니다.

Wow!! I’m in language school in Korea but still use lots of online grammar explanations online too, so this helpful because this just came up at school and I have a test in a week. I haven’t watched this video yet, but will later, but at times, when I’ve watched your videos in the past, it has felt like sometimes too much explanation in English. I think in making grammar videos, especially for immediate speakers, explaining and speaking in Korean is also very, very helpful for someone who’s seriously learning. I think helping people take off training wheels by first explaining in English, then speaking in Korean more has you go through examples (outside of reading the example), but talking about the questions in Korean too would be helpful. I want to learn Korean, so only hearing English outside of reading each example is kinda hard. I hope this feedback makes sense, but so much of Korean can’t be truly explained in English, so just helping us get the feel for it in Korean with minimal English where it’s not essential is best!

Es tut mir leider, aber das ist nicht nur viel zu schnell sondern auch soooo schlecht erklärt. Ohne Beispiele, wie soll man das als nicht Englisch Muttersprachler verstehen? Schade.
