This is really one of the best lessons about Korean history I have found. Such clarity of explanation made it easy to retain all information given. Thank you so very much Miss Vicky. I had the honor to visit the Secret Gardens in the 창덕궁 Palace and the tour guide explained many interesting details about King 세종 대 황

One thing i DIDN'T like. Is im struggling with Reuil letter. You said its an L sound for 'Rattlesnake' which starts with an R...and then said the sound is somewhere between R-L...but that beginners should just keep it as L for now. So that was really confusing....when trying to learn.
@KoreanwithMissVicky
@KoreanwithMissVicky Күн бұрын
It sounds closer to “r” when it’s combined with diphthongs (compound vowels) and with other vowels it sounds closer to “l” :) You can take it as a natural phonetic phenomenon

Best video to recommend to any beginners of Korean language learning. I have came across several channels from YT but this is the most easiest to follow/understand and feels very organic to learn from.

Mfers couldn't stick to one system, I bet someone in the future will be like, ok let's keep Sino and get rid of the other one, they literally mix the systems, the Sino is the same in Japanese, the way you read it then they add the Native which is more like European lol

I always find difficulty when trying to tell the difference between these vowels in conversations ㅓ ㅗ , it's been around a month and a bit and i can't tell when i have to write ㅓ or ㅗ
@KoreanwithMissVicky

You can pronouncing “uh-oh” in English. ㅓ sounds closer to uh and ㅗ sounds closer to oh :)

안녕하세요~ If you are a beginner who has just started grammar, that part isn’t really important for now. You can come back to that part when you get to learn about conjunctions and it’ll make more sense :)

Great video, a brief, but on-point summary of korean history! If I can give a suggestion, I would've highlighted the years as kingdoms lasting centuries is not common worldwide. 백제 and 고구려 lasted 600~700 years, 신라 lasted about 1000 years(992 in exact), 고려 about 500 and 조선 another 500 years.

This video was filmed seven years ago, so it may be a bit different from now, especially since English learning resources and tips are more widespread now:) and the thing is that admission to universities in Seoul is quite difficult. So many students who attend these schools are well-educated and many of them are proficient in English, but it’s hard to say they represent the general population.

In the video on double vowels why is 쉐 pronounced (shae) instead of (swae) when I learn it on a language app, the (S-w) or s and double vowel it is pronounced sh instead of sw
@KoreanwithMissVicky
@KoreanwithMissVicky 5 күн бұрын
You can just take it as a natural phonetic phenomenon. When the consonant ㅅ and “w” diphthongs are combined, they make the sound similar (but not entirely the same of course, because you know romanization) to “sh” in English.
