Anyways, I did try to file a police report but they are asking for a exact adress of the location where the withdrawal takes place. So my report is pending. I called bank of america for adress but they wont tell. Coz in the activity it just show los angeles or culver city. So its a waste of time. Its the bank game. And also, I did close my checking account and my credit card account with them as soon as I found out they close my edd account so they can close my claim. I cant trust that bank. They first told me its the edd who close my account but when I called edd they said they have no reason to close my account and instructed me to call bank of america whats the problem. But anyhow, edd will send me a check instead of sending it to the bank.

Nothing to do with credit union or not. EDD gave BofA an exclusive contract for this, so the money has to pass through BofA. They also have this silly/stupid push for people to use debit card without providing direct deposit. When was the last time you paid rent, mortgage, or your credit card with another debit card? NEVER! I wonder if the EDD officials setup this type of arrangement got some kickback. It's silly and stupid beyond any sort of imagination.

Do not use the edd card they give you. Put it ur drawer and forget about it. Just link your bank accounts and transfer online. This will hopefully minimize the fraud

My card was hacked and hundreds of dollars taken out 40 miles away from my home. That same day, I had 3 different balance inquires from Seattle, Vegas and San Fran. Never got that money back. Bank of America did the same thing to its own customers with online bill paying. They would keep the funds, not pay them out right away or wait until they were under funds then charge fees claiming not enough money in the account. They paid millions settling guilty with government.

I’m a relationship manager for Bank of America, and EDD is a completely different entity where the government is entitled to give you revenue based on your situation. We’re the ones who actually came up to help people across the globe.. even if you don’t have a Bank of America account - you can still use this card anywhere as a cash advance with no additional charges! Another option is you can transfer the funds immediately to your own personal account! Fraud always will exist in every financial institution depending on how you use the card and where.. If there is fraud, every bank goes thru a procedure of investigation to the case! A very common misconception is that I have to be clear about is that BOA DOES NOT have access to EDD - we can only provide the cash. Clients always have a misunderstanding that it’s BOA, but everything has to be done thru the EDD department! It’s especially the holidays that there’s people who will always try to steal your money unfortunately, but I would continue to say is that the reality of EDD is not even like that.. MILLIONS OF CLIENTS have used EDD thru this difficult situation.. and if it weren’t without it.. most people wouldn’t have access to any financial aid for this COVID hardships. Employees cannot steal as I see the comment section below, because we would need the actual card, and ID to even do the transaction in the first place! I had to clarify this because the comment section is just filled with false things.. it’s just not like that. I hope this clears out anything.. Well one thing is for sure the card people hold says Bank of America and has a visa logo on it. If money is stolen from my account that is through Bank of America then they are liable especially because they’re giving out cards without a chip. So why is BofA trying to wash their hands and give people the run around? If you have the DoorDash app, you should get a notice about a order/charge at the time it's made. Immediately call them and report it, if it is not a order you made. They should cancel the order and refund you card. This happened to a friend of mine and it was fixed right then and there.

For those of you who were victims of this, got a question for you. I caught a fraudulent charge today (luckily only around $67) and reported it. From now on, I'm transferring everything to my bank. Were the charges you caught usually by retailers you don't buy from? This has gotten me paranoid, thinking maybe there are charges by the same retailers (even in same locations) if the scammers are able to tell shopping history and try to avoid being detected.

My dad was sending $100 to my sister in the form of a check. The check was stolen from our mail box. The woman who took it took it to the B of A branch that my dad uses. B of A call and alerted my parents and they went right to the bank. B of A didn't hold the woman that was trying to cash the check. Other than alerting my parents to the attempted fraud, B of A refused to do anything. They wouldn't even make an effort to send the woman's photo to the police. My father had the same account with B of A since the late 70's and he had to close it in 2019 because they refused to do anything. To date nothing has been done and never will be, due to the fact that my dad passed in November of 2020. How's that for Bank of America?

This happened to me as well! They had froze my account and said that there was an investigation....im the one that called them about somebody took $300 from my account and it wasnt me!!!! I sisnt get a phone call or letter stating what was going on with my claim. So i called and they said that it was under investigation through EDD. I called and EDD and they said that the bank put the freeze on my account and closed it. Im out $300 maybe more but i didnt look thoroughly at my account transactions.

It happend to me for a few hundred in multiple charges that were fraud. Bank of America still hasn't gave me one of the random charges. I told them I had my card that I'm not sure how anyone took my info.

Cali EDD is doing shity things to people on unemployment too. I moved to another state a few months ago and because of it I was cut off from my funds until I prove my identity. I sent them over 10 documents to them and they still denied me. I now have to file an appeal with EDD and possibly have to meet with a judge back in Cali. to try and settle this problem. This has been an absolute nightmare for me financially. There has been no fraud on my end, just with Cali EDD.

CA EDD discriminates english only speakers. When I applied on their official website they have links to their how to videos. They set the English one to private but not the other.

Yes right after I talked with the claims department they froze my account.. I now have EDD send me checks. That's how I'm getting around that...

I'm with you on that one I had over $8000 in my account last year check my balance in September of last year everything ok check it again 3weeks later now my account reads $4000 called the bank on hold for hrs.went down to the bank check my balance before I go inside to speak to a real person balance reads $950 WTF where did all that money go tried to talk to someone that deals with this got no one they said the person is not in & if I can leave my name & number & the reason for ...still no one got back to me til I received a letter stating that they are no issue in my claim but they went ahead & issued me $174.00 for these little issues

This is the same thing they are doing to me. On Dec 3rd I spoke with BofA regarding a withdrawl of 409.00 the agent told me it would be investigated, meanwhile she would send me a new card. I recieved the card but it said the account was closed. I have spent hours on the phone between BofA And EDD. Todate, everytime I call BofA they tell me to call EDD even though ive explained EDD says there is nothing wrong on their side, im still being certified and paid now by check. With over 2300 on my card and BifA not willing to be professional to take appropriate action, I now have a warrant for my arrest, I could not pay my traffic ticket. After being homeless for 3 years ive been working damn hard on my credit score so I can buy a home, unable to pay my bills on time this month has already shown a decrease from 750 to 669. The biggest issue for me though, I was looking forward to buyjng my babies something for CHRISTMAS for the first time in years, but thanks to BofA that didnt happen. Im tired, I just want my money

This reporter starts talking about someone taking money from an account at an ATM, doesn’t explain how they do it and then jumps to unauthorized charges. They’re not the same thing!!! All they need to make unauthorized charges is your card information which they can get when you use it, but to withdraw money from an ATM without the physical card or knowing the debit card number is bizarre. They would need to hack into B o A or the ATM! Sloppy! Just doing a 9 to 5
